Open a Case | Hideout in Whitechapel The Testament of Sherlock Holmes Guide
Last update: 11 May 2016
When you are left alone in the room, search it. On a commode tobacco and some files are lying.
On a table you can find material for analysis, various chemical substances and a pipe.
On a hanger you see a coat and Holmes' hat.
On a small cupboard you can see violin and score on an armchair.
Notice two cases on the sofa, one is attached to it with handcuffs.
Look at a lock. To open it, you need a key and cipher. Begin searching.
On the table, nearby pipe, localize musical newspaper (pick up both). Newspaper has only one page written.
Go to a high shelf and notice crystal glasses. They can help replay a melody from newspaper. To play it, use a pipe. Watson will recognize the music - Beethoven's 5th Symphony.
Walk on an entresol and find a score of this theme, among other lying on an armchair. It's weirdly stained.
Go to the table and examine stain with a glass. Watson will notice some inscription under a stain. But you need some reagent to clean it.
So pick up a reagent from table,
and mix it with water from a bowl standing nearby Holmes' dresser.
And from a commode pick up blotting paper.
Return to the microscope and pour reagent onto a score and then dry it up with blotting paper. To see a full cipher, you need to remove stains from three places: on the left, right and in the middle. Three numbers appear: 3, 5, 9.
(And another achievement is yours: "Melomania").
But you still need a key. Go to the bowl again and notice, that there are particles of soil in it. Assuming, that Holmes washed his hands, he had to touched soil. Where?
Return to entresol and look at a pot plant. There is a soil around it.
So dig in a pot and find small key.
Put it into handcuffs' lock and set a code 3-5-9, and turn the key.
In case you find a train ticket for London's suburbies (click it).
