Whether you decided to choose a campaign or single missions (Hit List), you will have to select a playable character. There are four characters prepared for this mode, and they differ not only in their look, but also in equipment and skills. The important information is that each of this character is much weaker than Jackie, because they can't use tentacles and possess only one chosen Darkness power. A bright point is that there (anti)heroes use additional weapons powered by the Darkness energy. A detailed description of each character is listed below. Note - if you've chosen Hit List missions, then after selecting the character you have to select the mission. In order to do it, press ENTER and choose any mission.

Playable characters in Vendettas mode have strengths and weaknesses similar to Jackie. First of all you have to remember about avoiding illuminated places, because this not only blinds the controlled character but also blocks regeneration of its health. Regeneration of health bar is done in two ways: thanks to executions (screen above) and destroying hearts of defeated enemies (same as eating them). It is worth noting the executions are performed in a slightly different way as in case of Jackie, because you do not grab your opponent with tentacles. Instead you have to stun him and then run towards him and press the Q key.

Playable characters can develop their powers, but talent trees are far simpler than Jackie's tree. I recommend of course collecting essence points to unlock all available powers. It is worth noting that gathered essence points are added to the same pool of points for campaign chapters and Hit List missions. As for finding Talent Shrines, these are located at the start of each mission.
