Jimmy does very well in a ranged combat, but he differs from Shoshanna in that he doesn't use unique firearms, but demonic throwing axe (Dark Axe). This object works a little like boomerang, because it thrust into enemy or environment object and you should press once again the mouse button to bring it back. The important information is that this weapon requires a good accuracy, because only hit in the head or other sensitive body area means opponent's instant death. Otherwise the enemy will be at most wounded or knocked down.
Jimmy is more resistant to damage than other characters. He can also summon darklings, which will attack enemies by default and in case of weaker enemies they might even kill someone. Stronger enemies will deal with them fairly quickly but then these creatures are also useful, because they can at least distract enemies for few seconds. Before summoning darklings I recommend destroying light sources. It is also worth to unlock all powers connected with darklings because they are very useful (especially summoning more darklings and their exploding types).

Demonic | Dark Axe's Anger | 1600 essence points + Devil Executions | You're invincible for few seconds after performing execution. This is very useful talent, but you have to remember that this bonus doesn't count when you perform regular axe throws. |
Demonic | Dark Axe's Power | 1200 essence points + Dark Axe Master | Possibility of speeding up regeneration of darkling summoning by killing enemies with a sword and/or destroying their hearts. It is not absolute priority, unless you like relying on darklings. |
Guns | Infidel Darkness Mod | 300 essence points | Increases pistols' clip (regular and machine). It is worth noting that it works only when Jimmy stays in the dark. I recommend unlocking this power as soon as possible, because it is cheap and perfectly fits if you prefer using axe and pistol at the same time. |
Guns | Active Pump | 600 essence points + Infidel Darkness Mod | If you press the right mouse button after shooting with shotgun, your next hit will be more accurate. It is not a priority to buy this talent, because it is far better to use axe and pistol instead of a shotgun. |
Guns | Warlord Darkness Mod | 600 essence points + Infidel Darkness Mod | Increases shotguns' and assault rifles' clip. It is worth noting that it works only when Jimmy stays in the dark. You can buy this power, but only if you will use assault rifles and not shotguns. |
Darklings | Darklings | - | Summoning darklings (two by default), who jumps on enemies. You do not have to buy this power and it is worth to use it from the very beginning. |
Darklings | Knockout Darklings | 500 essence points | Possibility of knocking down enemies as a result of exploding darklings. This is very useful enhancement, which definitely makes using darklings good choice. I suggest unlocking it as soon as possible especially that it is not expensive. |
Darklings | Darkling Squad | 750 essence points | Summons three (instead of two) darklings. This is another very useful enhancement. The more darklings you're able to summon, the better, because you can create more confusion. |
Darklings | Volatile Darklings | 1000 essence points + Knockout Darklings | Increases the amount of damage inflicted by exploding darklings. If you have bought Knockout Darklings power then you should also buy this one, because it increases significantly effectiveness of darklings. |
Darklings | Darkling Army | 1500 essence points + Darkling Squad | Summons four (instead two or three) darklings. It is quite expensive but you should not ignore it, because four darklings can significantly help you. Even during fights with stronger enemies. |
