Homecoming - p. 1 | Walkthrough The Darkness II Guide
Last update: 11 May 2016
New objective: Hunt down Victor
Start with using the Talent Shrine. Get rid of the left barricade with your left tentacle (Q and rhythmically E) and then enter a new room. Be careful, because soon enemies will start appearing in a distance. I suggest staying in this part of the room because in most situations during this chapter you won't be able to destroy light sources and make illuminated places safe for your character.
Initially watch out for opponents occupying the upper floor. To eliminate them you can use of course the firearms, but you can also use your left tentacle to throw some objects at them (metal bars and propane canisters among others). Prepare for an attack of elite enemies, who will take part in later phase of the fight, especially that there is at least one enemy with firearms among them. As you probably remember, to eliminate them quickly you should use the right tentacle, but you can also slow them down with Swarm (the F key).
After the fight you should examine the corpses and look for ammo sheds and better weapons. Head to the illuminated passage. Look for ammo and then turn left and go up the stairs shown on the screen above.
Start with eliminating opponents visible in a distance. Notice, that there is a large hole in front of you, but you can solve this problem by catching a right wall with you tentacle (Q) and then pull it out (rhythmically E) to create sort of a bridge. Be careful, because new enemies will appear after your action. You should start with the guy who attacks you with a whip.
Depending on your preferences, you can now stay at this place, using the firearms and environment objects (metal bars for example), or run towards enemies and help yourself with tentacles. Regardless of your tactics, watch out particularly on elite opponents and a thug with a reflector. After the fight explore area to your right (behind the pulled wall) and that's because you'll find a relic there (The Silent Night - 25/29). Notice - if you fall down to the hole, you'll have to pull out a double door with your left tentacle and then return on the first floor.
You can now go to the place, where enemies were coming from during the last fight. Watch out, because right after approaching the new passage, more enemies can approach in front of you, with en elite shotgun man. So you have to act fact and since you're close to the enemies, it is best to use tentacles to eliminate them.
Move forwards, finding a Talent Shrine on your way, as well as ammo shed. Soon you should reach the ballroom and it is worth to look around here carefully because soon you'll fight here. Notice, that some parts of the room are permanently illuminated, so you'll have to avoid them. I recommend also remembering places with ammo and other interactive objects.
In order to start the battle, you have to approach the piano standing in the middle of the ballroom and view a photo left on it (the E key). The game will display a cutscene with Victor, who will send his men on you. There are four groups of enemies in total, and each of them is described in details below. A great thing is a fact that the game will save its state after elimination of each group, so if you even die, you won't have to start everything from the beginning.
New objective: Survive the Ambush
Right after the start of the first part of the battle, I propose to turn left and run towards the area shown on the above screen, which is located under the balcony. There are several factors for this decision - this area is fully in shade plus you'll find ammo here, as well as many interactive objects (very useful metal bars to attack enemies and shield for a defense).
As for opponents, during this phase of the fight you have to watch for two elite enemies (one with the firearms and one with the melee weapon). Remember about using tentacles when fighting with these enemies, but you can also use a Swarm attack, which stops them for few seconds, making them easy targets.
Finally deal with "normal" opponents, who should be no challenge for you. It is worth noting that you won't advance to the second part of the battle, until all enemies aren't dead. So you might keep at least one of them alive, until you replenish ammo and heal Jackie.
After advancing to the second part of the battle, focus mainly on attacking and keeping on distance TWO enemies with whips. Otherwise you could lose quickly all your weapons and become an easy target during your tries to get weapons back.
Equally important is to quickly and efficiently kill two enemies with reflectors. Luckily they should appear one after another, making their elimination easier. Same as before, leave weakest opponents till the end, using your time to replenish ammo and heal your character.
Third part of the battle is definitely easiest, because the only problem you'll have with quickly moving enemies with melee weapons. I suggest using the right tentacle to attack them especially that you do not have to focus on performing very precise attacks. Additionally you'll have to deal with group of ordinary enemies.
Surviving the last, fourth part of the fight requires a lot more effort. Watch out especially for a new elite opponent with the firearms and the enemy with a shield. For the sake of reminder, you have to destroy shield's outer case first and then pull it out from him (Q).
In addition to enemies mentioned above, watch out for another opponent with a reflector, so he won't stop you from using the Darkness powers. Finally deal with the weakest opponents, fighting until you'll get information on further objectives.
