As soon as Hommet performs the rite, you will be trapped by Maferil. Your task will be to make it into his hideout. In that location, there are many various traps, so keep using Search on a regular basis. First of all, take a look around. There are two interactive pillars here (M6,6), which you can spin as much as you want. The correct combination opens the door and you will be able to walk deeper into the underground. To learn the correct combination, approach the statues shown in the screenshot and destroy them. Under the rubble, you can see the symbol, aligned with the pillar.
Walk through the successive rooms in the location and you will soon find a room, where there is another puzzle (M6,10). This puzzle is well known to all RPG players. It is the old, good combination from the algebraic equation that will open two doors for you, and the riches behind them. The first door opens when all of the orbs start glowing, and the second one at the moment at which the orbs go out. Since the game displays randomly lit orbs, it is impossible to describe the "correct" combination, where all of the orbs are lit. Another thing is that there also are orbs that are not lit. There is only one combination here (the fastest one) which is why you should try and perform the first combination first, and the second one afterwards).
If you are standing in front of all lit orbs (see the screenshot), you simply need to click all four orbs in the corners and the one in the center, to put all of them out. The order, in this case, does not matter. Of course, the order, in which you approach the puzzle also does not matter. If, instead of lighting the orbs, you accidentally put them out, do not panic. To light them all back, you need to employ the same technique as described above. As soon as all of the orbs go out, the door opens and you will be attacked by Ghouls. From the body of one of them, collect the Snapped Bow Half. Before you leave the underground, remember to take the treasure with you, from the room that you have just opened - here, you find the first one of the ten rubies that you need to complete the side quest Marked Rubies.
Head now towards the main exit. Here, you find another puzzle (M6,12), but it is much easier than the previous one. Your task is to light the four statues. To do this, you need to press the button on them, in the appropriate order/ The order has been shown in the above screenshot. If you start pressing the statues that are not holding the magic symbol, you will be attacked by monsters. After you get to the last chamber, you will fight Maferil's spirit (M6,Maferil). The fight should not be too difficult, but remember to focus on the correct opponent, at the moment wt which uses cloning. When you focus your forces on the clones, right after you kill them Maferil summons more. Your indication of which Maferil is the real one is the amount of his health. Clones have much less health. After you win the battle, collect your reward and head for the exit - the portal with symbols next room.
Reward for completing the quest: 2800 experience and Maferil's book (read it to receive an additional skill point).
