The Calling - Main quest | Forlorn Cliffs / Darklake District Walkthrough Sword Coast Legends Guide
Last update: 03 February 2017
After you cross the portal, you start a conversation with Gareth Dawntreader. You learn that you will have to decide the fate of Moontear. You have two options. You either destroy Moontear and prevent Belaphoss from infusing his energy, or save him with the sacrifice made by Illydia. Now, you will be able to talk to your allies for the last time. After that, go to the red portal, to Belaphoss' hideout. After a short conversation with the demon, the battle starts. During the battle, try to cast spells that buff the entire party. The battle may prove long, but not too difficult. The only thing that you need to watch out for is the fire whirl cast by Belaphoss. This skill results in a tornado of fire surrounding the demon.
The warrior and the paladin, with the help from the cleric, should be able to withstand the effect of fire,, which is not the case with the rogue, which is why you should be utilizing the "Hit and run" tactic. This is unarguably the best tactic, given that Belaphoss will be summoning demons to the battle and there is no better character to eliminate them, than the rogue. Towards the end of the battle with Belaphos, he escapes to devour Moontear's energy. At this point, you need to decide whether you want to save Moontear and sacrifice Illydia, or destroy him.
Note! If you have Illydia on your current party and you decide to keep Moontear, Illydia makes the sacrifice of her life. You cannot revive her, nor save her, so you fight the battle with the final boss not with four characters, but with three of them. Since Illydia is a highly valuable party member - she is the cleric, the ensuing battle may prove too difficult.
regardless of your choice, this is the last battle in the game. There are two main phases to the battle with Tasyllys. The first one lasts up to the moment in which he loses 50% of his health. The battle is long, but Tasyllys can't surprise you with anything, in the initial phase. First of all, use the strongest combo of the rogue's skills. Tasyllys has a very low factor of defense against piercing, which is why he will be taking additional damage from the rogue. When coupled with high dexterity (DEX) and increased chance of critical hit, while invisible, the rogue is capable of crushing Tasyllys. The second phase surprises you with the fact that Tasyllys summons his mirror reflections. They deal lots of damage from magic and they are very tough. The best method of eliminating them is dealing critical damage as the rogue. If Tasyllys dies, the same happens to his reflections.
Reward for completing the quest: 14000 experience points.
