Ship
Interact with the galaxy map and select Kashyyyk. Don't forget to go up to the bridge and sit in the chair after receiving the appropriate orders. Cal will jump out of the Stinger Mantis - the chapter starts in the water.
Take control of an AT-AT
Start swimming towards the nearest AT-AT. Your task is to climb to its top - you will have to do this while the AT-AT is moving. The left front limb of the AT-AT has vines. You can catch it and start climbing up.
The climbing path is very linear. If you need, you can jump to the neighboring vines. Start by moving towards the back of the AT-AT. Then, climb on its right side, get under the front cannons and then reach the top of the left armor.
Your goal is to climb on top of the large walking machine. Find the interactive hatch - use it to get inside the AT-AT. Squeeze through the left hole and get to the room with a few Stormtroopers.
Once they are dead, go to the cockpit. Press the button to divert the opponents' attention (down on the d-pad) to eliminate them and take control of the AT-AT.
Piloting the AT-AT
The AT-AT section is linear and quite simple. You follow a linear path and your only job is to shoot enemies. Use blasters (note - they overheat if you shoot them continuously) and cannons. These weapons are best used alternately.
Start with destroying another AT-AT. After entering the jungle, focus on shooting Stormtroopers and destructible objects (e.g. the bridge). If necessary, you can stop for a moment and shoot from a stationary position. An AT-ST will appear in your path, but it has no chance against an AT-AT. In the final part of this sequence, you will have to shoot the enemy aircraft. The next sequence is scripted - the AT-AT gets destroyed. Cal must continue on foot.
Going through the first part of the jungle
After watching the meeting with Saw Gerrera, you can start exploring Kashyyyk. Select the only available exit from the landing site. The main path through the jungle requires you to run on one of the walls. You reach an inactive machine - scan it. You will learn that BD-1 needs an upgrade.
Go back a bit and follow the side route hidden behind the cables. In the new location, jump to the lower level and approach the workbench shown in the picture. This unlocks a new ability for BD-1 - Overcharge. You can connect to selected panels to turn them on or off.
Immediately after getting the improvement, Cal will be attacked by the Wyyyschokk spider. Start by quickly pressing the indicated button to free yourself. After that, you can start fighting the monster. Avoid the spider webs shot by the monster - Cal can be wrapped in a cocoon and temporarily immobilized. You can try to parry the monster's regular attacks, but it is safer to dodge to the side and attack after the spider misses.
After winning the fight, climb the wall to reach the platform above. Press the button to order BD-1 to connect to the panel and use Overcharge. This will move the construction with a rope down. After turning the panel off, you can grab the rope and leave this place.
Return to the central part of the jungle and go back to the panel you saw earlier. BD-1 can now connect into it. The nearby structure will be activated. Wait until it is in the place presented in the picture above, use the Force to slow it down and run along the newly created wall. This will allow you to go over the abyss.
You will meet Flame Beetles for the first time. They are very weak but they explode upon death, so don't forget to move away from them. Jump to the rope, run on the walls and then climb the vertical wall.
Finding the first Wookiees group
After watching the cut-scene with Saw, you will receive an objective to rescue Wookiees. Get to the barricade and destroy it with a Force push. Reach the Imperial Refinery - you will find a meditation spot. Continue your way and use the Force push again to get rid of the next obstacle. Eliminate the Stormtroopers. Watch out for grenades thrown by one of the commanders. Go further and attack the next group of Stormtroopers.
If you need a break after defeating the second group of Stormtroopers, you can turn right, use the Force to slow the machine down and then reach a meditation spot. When you open the next door, you will encounter an Electrostaff Purge Trooper. This enemy uses a staff with two electric ends. This enemy is good at parrying and countering attacks. Be prepared for that. Try to dodge a lot and attack the Purge Trooper when the enemy finishes his attack sequence.
Squeeze through and get to the place with beetles and Stormtroopers. It is best not to interfere and only deal with the survivors. Be careful, because this is the first time when you will meet Flametroopers. You can jump on them or quickly approach them when they run out of fuel and reload their flamethrowers.
Jump to the climbing wall and move to the top right corner. There is a panel with which BD-1 can interact. After viewing the effects of the activated the machine, use the newly opened passage to the next location.
You now have access to a new meditation spot. You will also notice that Stormtroopers are fighting big spiders. It is better not to bother them and let one side (probably the spiders) win. This will make it much easier to deal with weakened or less numerous enemies/monsters.
Exploration of the nearby cave is optional. There, you will find a mini-boss' lair - Albino Wyyyschokk spider. To continue the main mission, go to the right (the picture above). Here you can run along the wall. Then you have to use the Force to stop the rotating mechanism and run on it too.
Run on the next wall and grab the climbing wall located under the room with Stormtroopers. Hang down and move to the left. Climb up and get rid of opponents. You will find yourself next to a large working machine. Use the Force to slow it down - this creates an opening through which you can jump (the picture above).
Climb another wall and get to the meditation spot. Walk on the beam, climb up and attack new enemies. This is a good place to push some of them off into the abyss. Use this strategy to eliminate the "elite" Purge Trooper (the enemy with a staff with violet tips). The elevator is unfortunately temporarily inactive - you have to use the side entrance.
Boss fight - Security Droid
There is a terminal at the end of the corridor - the protagonist finds some Wookiee prisoners. Interact with the terminal - this will trigger a boss fight with the Security Droid. This is fortunately one of the easiest bosses of the game:
- The droid is very slow and you can easily find an opportunity to damage it after dodging its attacks.
- You can either parry or avoid the droid's regular attacks. The boss also has stronger red attacks (example in the picture above) - roll to the side to avoid the grab (Cal will get more damage).
Freeing the rest of the Wookiees
Continue the exploration of the facility. Get to the climbing wall on the opposite side. Grab it and move to the right. Then, you have to climb to the top. Go straight. You will encounter a few Stormtroopers. Try to deflect their projectiles and throw them into the tank using the Force push.
This location has a puzzle with a rotating mechanism. Take BD-1 to the panel shown in the picture and use Overcharge on it.
Walk up to the rotating mechanism and use Force Slow when it is in a position that allows you to run straight (the picture above).
Turn left and jump on the platforms located above the poison tank.
The rotating mechanism is reached in the same, but you start from a different place. Use Force Slow on the mechanism when the platform is placed in a straight line.
Go to the wall and jump to the bars on the cages with Wookiees kept inside. Move towards the hole on the right - see the picture. Go through it to solve the puzzle.
In the new corridor, use the Force push on the barricade and defeat the Stormtrooper. Other enemies are in the left room. Defeat the Stormtroopers first and then deal with the new Security Droid. Thankfully, he has the same attacks as the previous droid of the same type. After winning the fight, use the terminal to free the Wookiees.
Meeting with Saw on the roof
Get inside the small elevator in the same room and wait for it to take you to another floor. In the new room, let BD-1 connect to the panel and use Overcharge (the picture above).
You can return to the previously visited location with the large elevator. Eliminate the Stormtroopers (remember that you can push them into the abyss) and use the large elevator to get to the roof.
Time for a bigger fight:
- Not all opponents are on the roof from the very beginning of the battle. Some will appear on the battlefield later.
- Remember to eliminate Stormtroopers first because they die fast. Watch out for Flametroopers - attack them when they are busy fighting with someone else or when they are reloading their weapon.
- Security Droids will fight, too. Don't forget to lock the camera on the droid you want to attack. You should also deal with them one by one.
- An AT-ST will appear in the last phase. You can use the same tricks as during the previous confrontation - deflect its attacks (blasters, grenades, missiles) and/or attack its lower limbs with the lightsaber.
After winning the battle, find a new terminal to use BD-1's Overcharge. This activates a large elevator moving to the landing pad where you started exploring the planet. Use it - for now, you are done with Kashyyyk. After returning to the landing pad, get on board the Stinger Mantis and leave the planet.
