Battlefront 2: Heavy Class Guide Battlefront 2 guide, tips
Last update: 28 May 2020
A heavy uses a heavy blaster and is the least agile character. Definitely better at a short distance (and at a medium with a better weapon); great for holding points and to "scare" off enemies by using suppressive fire. This class has a little bit more health points than the rest but this difference isn't that noticeable.
Specialty: Area Control, Defense
Mobility: Low
Team Roles: Cover fire, heavy weapons
Durability: High (200 health points)
Abilities:
- Impact Grenade: Explodes upon a contact with a surface/object/enemy. Deals less damage than, e.g. a Thermal Detonator but its effectiveness is higher. Especially useful when you overheat your weapon while fighting at a short distance.
- Sentry: The name can be misleading - this is a type of a weapon, not a gadget. Allows you to fight at a mid-range by using a chaingun that deals a lot of damage. Greatly reduces mobility, can only be used in third person mode. Can't overheat, has a time limit. Slightly increases resistance of allies who are close to the user. Sadly, using this weapon isn't comfortable. However, it has a few interesting modification cards.
- Combat Shield: A small force field that allows its user to shoot with their main weapon and slowly move forward. Some weapons can still hurt you (e.g. a flamethrower, melee attacks), body parts that aren't protected by it can be damaged as usual. Always remember to crouch - your legs are very vulnerable to enemy fire. Has a specific amount of durability. A very good ability.
Weapons and modifications
This chapter contains descriptions of weapons and modifications available for a Heavy.
Level 1 (e.g. DC-15 / RT-97C)

Modifications: none
Level 2 - DC-15LE
Clip: 40 rounds Reload: slow Use: cover fire/short distance Accuracy: low An upgraded version of the default weapon. Can be modified - then it becomes very powerful. | details |
Modifications:
- Reduced Recoil - allows you to be more effective at a medium distance.
- Improved Zoom - first-person mode gets a scope; third-person mode gets an improved zoom.
- Exploding Shot.
Level 3 - FWMB-10K
Clip: 30 rounds Reload: slow Use: short/mid distance Accuracy: high A powerful rifle, great for 1vs1 fights. Can be even used for headshots. Deals much more damage than the previously described weapons but it is not that good for cover fire. Used by many players. | details |
Modifications:
- Improved Cooling.
- Night Vision - allows you to see enemies in dark while aiming (enemies are marked white).
- ION Shot - increased damage to vehicles and shields, infantry damage reduced.
Level 4 - TL-50
Clip: 20 Rounds Reload: fast Use: short distance Accuracy: low Huge recoil makes this weapon more suitable for players with lesser accuracy. Great for fights at a very short distance, especially in buildings. Better than such weapons as CR-2 but can be weaker against accurate shots from, e.g. S-5. | details |
Modifications:
- Improved Cooling - increases clip size by 10 rounds.
- Reduced Recoil.
- Secondary Fire - you can charge your shot and deal more damage.
Star Cards
Here, you can find the list of all Star Cards for Heavy. Cards can be created out of crafting parts or found in crates. Each one of them has 4 upgrade levels that can improve abilities or reduce time of their recharge.
Boost Cards
Icon | Name | Effect | Note |
The Defender | Get battle points by receiving damage. | -
Marksman | Headshot reduces weapon overheating and lowers amount of emitted heat until next overheating. | Not recommended - headshots done by Heavy are rare (although it is possible with more precise weapons, such as FWMB-10K)
Expert Weapons Handling | Effective weapon cooling lasts longer. | Recommended ability - you will use suppressive fire a lot.
Brawler | Get a little bit of health and recharge your abilities after killing an enemy with a melee attack. | -
Bodyguard | Reduces damage from explosions and toxins. | -
Survivalist | Health regeneration starts sooner than usual. | -
Bounty Hunter | You receive battle points faster. | -
Resourceful | All abilities have a shortened recharge time. | - |
Ability Cards
Icon | Name | Replaced ability | Effect | Note |
Improved Impact Grenade | Impact Grenade | Increased radius and shortened recharge. | -
ION Torpedo | Impact Grenade | A torpedo with rockets that tracks their target - a vehicle. | Can't be shot at something other than a vehicle.
Detonite Charge | Impact Grenade | Plant a charge and detonate it after pressing the button second time. | Explosion is similar to that of an Impact Grenade, can be thrown at a short distance. Use: traps.
Mobile Sentry | Sentry | Shorter recharge, greater mobility but lowered damage. A small health regeneration and lowered damage received from explosions. | High mobility (you can escape even from a grenade), great accuracy - try to aim at heads because its damage is low. Mainly for medium/long distances.
Supercharged Sentry | Sentry | Shorter recharge, greater mobility but lowered damage. A small health regeneration and lowered damage received from explosions. | Similar to the version above but this one deals a little bit more damage. Selected by many players due to its balance between damage and rate of fire. Great for fights inside buildings and at a shorter distance.
Explosive Sentry | Sentry | You can't move while shooting. The most powerful Sentry variant with explosive shots; low rate of fire. | A fantastic sentry, no one will try to get in its reach. You can even hit enemies who are hidding behind covers. Requires one or two shots to kill an enemy.
Improved Combat Shield | Combat Shield | Increased shield durability, shorter recharge. | Recommended for PvP fights and other modes.
Barrage | Combat Shield | Shoot 3 small grenades that explode after a few seconds (they can rebound off of walls). | These grenades are very weak but they have their use - you can shoot them at enemies who are hiding behind covers.
ION Turret | Combat Shield | Deals a lot of damage to shields and vehicles. Tracks infantry when there are no vehicles in sight. | Very weak against infantry, useless for modes without vehicles. Great reach but needs a lot of time to lock-on. |
