Resources gathering in Satisfactory Satisfactory Guide And Tips
Last update: 01 April 2019
In Satisfactory, gathering resources is a mainstay of the game. Without resources, you cannot create buildings, expand your factory, or research technologies. The game offers a few ways of gathering resources. Some resources are only available in certain locations, while some can only be gathered manually, e.g. leaves or wood.
First way involves manually gathering resources which are found in the world. This way, you'll gather wood, leaves etc. This is the only way of getting iron ore which is necessary for developing the HUB and building other structures. Your character gathers a lot of resources from ores which are on the surface, gathering this resource from special deposits takes up a lot more time.
Resource deposits have unlimited supply of the resource, which makes them a very important element of the game. You'll quickly receive the ability to create and place Portable Miners - special machines that gather resources. Such object has to be chosen from your inventory and placed on a resource deposit. You can place a few of such items, but you need to gather the output and carry it to a warehouse or special buildings. A good strategy is placing a few of such miners at nearby deposits. This way, you'll gather a lot of resources.
The best and most effective way of gathering resources is creating a special object - Miner MK1. You need to upgrade your HUB to get access to this building. This object requires converted materials from iron and copper ore and requires electricity, so you need to connect it to a base and provide steady supply of electricity. Miners can be connected through Conveyor Belts which will connect them with other objects or a warehouse. As the time progresses, you'll receive access to more effective mines with increased output. It is one of the best ways of gathering resources, allowing full automatization of production.
