Hostile plants and creatures in Satisfactory Satisfactory Guide And Tips
Last update: 01 April 2019
During exploration in Satisfactory, you'll encounter various plants and creatures, which most of the time are hostile towards you. Some of the opponents are not very dangerous, provided you are vary and prepared to explore new areas.
During the initial stages of the game, most opponents will be encountered nearby resource lodes or artifacts. Thanks to that, you'll know that there is something important or useful nearby. Along the way, gather nuts and pale berries that will heal your character.
When you embark on a trip to a new territory, always have a weapon (e.g. Xeno-Zapper) ready. Changing your equipped weapon during combat is not the best idea. You can lose a lot of your health points when you start changing the item during an enemy attack. Xeno-Zapper enables you to deal two points of damage in a short amount of time - all you have to do is to press LMB two times. A short animation will play out, while your character will deal two fast attacks.
Most opponents leave remains (Alien Carapace, Alien Organism) which are useful for various research in your HUB. Gather such items after every battle, to avoid spending time on gathering them when there are more pressing things to do with your factory.
The most often encountered opponent during initial minutes of the game is an enemy who looks like a hog, and behaves like a rhino. This enemy will be encountered next to iron and copper deposits, in caves, or next to various artifacts. When you approach him close enough, he begins a charge that not only deals damage, but also pushes you back. Then, the enemy waits a short while and begins another charge. His moves are best countered by jumping right before his attack, or running to a side. This enemy has four health points, which means you need to hit him four times with the Xeno-Zapper to defeat him.
The other opponent who is often encountered next to crashed ships or coal sources, is Spitter. Spitters have 8 health points and utilize a ranged attack. They are often encountered in groups of 2-3. The opponent spits toxins that are guided towards the player, which makes their projectiles hard to avoid. It is best to avoid the first attack while standing in a distance from Spitter, then quickly approach him and deal as many damage as possible.
Plants are also dangerous - you'll encounter areas filled with toxic gas or a plant that spreads the gas. In the initial stages of the game, you don't have the tools to counter such hazards. In the later stages of the game, you'll unlock a gas mask that will enable you to walk freely across such areas. In the remote areas of the map, you can encounter radioactive areas that deal a lot of damage in a short period of time. To counter them, you'll need a special suit that is unlocked in the final stages of the game.
