Exploration in Satisfactory Satisfactory Guide And Tips
Last update: 01 April 2019
In Satisfactory, exploration can not only discover new areas which will be suitable for building an additional factory, but can also help you find unusual items hidden in the world of the game.
After initial base building, somewhere between finished HUB and preparing to build Space Elevator, you can embark on a search for resources. Look for following objects:
Resource deposits. Searching for them is very easy, as you can detect such deposits using C button. A special device sends a signal that will detect the direction and the distance from the deposit. Unfortunately, you won't know how much resource is in there, or how the area next to it looks like - whether it is easy and safe for building. It is recommended to visit nearby resource deposits to plan your growth and check the amount of fields with deposits. After discovering some of the technologies, you'll be able to detect new resources, so check their locations often.
Ship wrecks. These objects are found rarely, but they contain valuable items - Hard Drives. Such drives contain information regarding new projects. To get them, you need to charge a container or other element of the wreck which will allow you to get the contents. Before embarking to the location of the wreck, prepare a supply of materials needed to build an object generating electrical energy or lead a power line from your base. After getting the drive and/or other treasures inside the wreck, you can dismantle the power station or electrical lines.
Slugs and "artifacts". The world of the game contains glowing slugs, red crystals, or purple spheres. All you have to do is to approach them and hold the button to pick up such findings. Most of the time, there are hostile animals nearby which will attack you on sight. Clean the area first before you pick up such items.
These are very useful findings. Slugs can be changed into a special item - Power Shard - which will increase the productivity of the chosen structure e.g. mine or a constructor. Thanks to Power Shards, you'll be producing more, without having to create new buildings or expand your factory. You'll appreciate this option in the later stages of the game, when you'll want to increase the output of the chosen object.
