Satisfactory’s transition from Early Access to full release has been hindered by a series of technical issues. Players have encountered problems, including language setting, startup crashes, and other errors, and dedicated servers not working. Additionally, some fans are eager to find out if the new update includes controller support. Let’s explore this feature.

Controller Support in Satisfactory Explained

Satisfactory's full release has not introduced controller support. While the game can be played on Steam Deck and via Steam controller input, it is still primarily designed for mouse and keyboard. Essential functions like deconstructing are not mapped to buttons, making full control with a gamepad challenging. Using a keyboard is the only guarantee that you will be able to control the game as most instructions are reference by certain keys.

Coffee Stain Studios has not officially committed to adding full controller support in the past. However, in a live Q&A session, the developers expressed interest in exploring this possibility and indicated that they would consider it once the 1.0 update is released, particularly for accessibility reasons.

So, here we are, post-launch, and as mentioned in the official launch trailer, Satisfactory will soon be available on consoles. This suggests that full gamepad support is currently in development, and we just need to wait a little longer for it. That’s great news!
