Enchanting items can greatly increase their basic parameters like attack and defense.

Enchanting the equipment is rather simple. First you must obtain a few items: weapon to enchant, enough Jewels of Bless, Magic Gems and Zen. Once you have all required items, go to an enchantment merchant - one can be found in each large city (for example in Tempano or Ohrdor). Once you encounter an enchantment merchant, select item enchantment. A new window will open. Place the item you want to upgrade into the slot and then select "enchant". If all went right, your item will receive +1 rank. Higher ranks have reduced chance of success - the higher the rank, the lower the success chance.

There are some factors that make enchanting a bit more complicated:

  1. Until level +8 in case of a failed enchanting the level of the spell can decrease. For example, a +6 item after a failed enchanting can be reduced to +5 item.
  2. From +9 level a failed enchanting can destroy the item.
  3. Soul Gems increase the success chance of enchanting. Each such item increases the success chance by 5%. On higher ranks it is recommended to use them as the chance of destroying item is too great.

You must also remember that you can't transfer enchantment level to a different item. Because of that, it isn't recommended to enchant items before you reach level 65 and gather good enough items.
