Combat in MU Legend MU Legend Guide
Last update: 30 November 2017
Combat is the key mechanic in MU Legend - in this game there are no peaceful solutions. Each quest or contract is related to killing a specific number of enemies or defeating a boss.
About combat in MU Legend
Combat starts when the player's character encounters an opponent or when he or she is hit by an enemy. This activity is related to several limitations:
- A character in "combat mode" won't be able to sit on a mount. In order to do it, the character must avoid enemy attacks for about 10 seconds (and not attack the enemy). After that time it is possible to sit on a mount.
- Town portal stone cannot be used - the principle is same as with the mount.
- The current process (like interaction with object during a quest) will be canceled and the character will receive damage.
You should also remember that a character that is on a mount won't be dismounted when attacked - you can freely run through a group of enemies with no risk.
Using skills and PM management
Attacking is very simple - you must point a target and then hit it with one of the available skills. There are few important things related to skills:
- Most skills use PM, the equivalent of mana/energy. Each character has a specific maximum number of this energy that regenerates automatically. Once you deplete it, the character won't be able to use skills until the PM regenerates.
- Weapon skills (by default available under the left mouse button) are used for dealing damage and regenerating PM. Each attack of this type will regenerate a specific number of PM if it hits the enemy. Using this skill correctly is very important.
- Most skills have a specific cooling time. You must wait this time until you can use that weapon again. In general, the stronger the skill, the more you must wait. The time can be shortened with a special attribute available in items and Soul Box.
- Weapon skills don't have cooling time. How frequently you can use them depends on the attack speed of the character - it can be checked on character tab (opened with "C" key).
Death penalty
The penalty for dying isn't very punishing - you don't lose experience points, items or gold. When you die, your items are damaged - with each death the items lose 10% of their durability. After a few deaths in a row half of your items might become useless and require repairing.
