Blader - MU Legend character classes Best DPS in MU Legend - guide

Last update: 07 December 2017

The Blader is a character class capable of dealing the highest physical damage with his attacks and abilities in melee combat. He's also the most versatile of the classes - he doesn't stand out from the others, but he can be effective while playing solo or in a team, during dungeon raids or in any other possible scenario. He has high mobility, multiple abilities allowing him to shorten the distance to the enemy and some to apply crowd control effects onto enemies.

The Blader, just like all of the remaining classes, can fight by using two different types of equipment - a pair of one-handed swords or a powerful two-handed sword. While using the former, the character will deal less damage, but will recover 0.5% of his max health points with each strike. The latter on the other hand doesn't have the healing effect, but the weapon skills are mower powerful and all of his attacks will deal 5% more damage. Weapon skills in both cases allow the Blader to attack multiple foes simultaneously.

The Blader deals the highest physical damage in melee combat from all the available classes - he can obliterate foes, eliminating dozens of enemies in a matter of seconds. Additionally, his skillset allow him to move around the battlefield, shortening the distance to his enemies or even allowing him to get out (jump out) of a dangerous situation. Some of his abilities allow him to increase the aggro of enemies - the effect increases the chances that monsters will attack the Blader instead of his party members. This character can also use skills that weaken the enemies (decreasing their attack and movement speed) or increase the effectiveness of the party (increasing the damage and movement speed).

The biggest advantage of the Blader, his versatility, is also his biggest flaw. The character doesn't stand out from the other classes - both the Whisperer and the War Mage can deal more damage (and from a safe distance), while the Dark Lord is better at tanking enemies thanks to his higher defense and shield that can block attacks. One should also consider his expert skills - they can increase the effectiveness of the Blader immensely and deal enormous damage to the enemies, but they offer nothing to the rest of the party. Nonetheless, the Blader is still a capable character and can fill all of the mentioned roles quite effectively.

General information

Pros

Cons

Difficulty level: medium

Damage: very high

Durability: medium

Crowd Control (CC): medium

Preferred role: any - he can be a DD (Damage Dealer) or a tank

+ Very high melee damage - the Blader can deal the highest melee damage from all of the remaining classes;

+ Access to weakening effects, including a stun;

+ The possibility of applying Fear effect onto the enemies - when used right, this ability can scatter the enemies, giving the Blader (and his party) a moment of rest;

+ High mobility thanks to three abilities that offer dash / charge - two of those allow the Blader to escape a dangerous situation;

+ Versatility - the Blader can serve the role of a tank, a damage dealer (DD) and a character whose purpose is to weaken the enemies;

+ Extremely effective against large groups of monsters, good against bosses;

+ Expert skills allow him to immensely increase his effectiveness and deal enormous damage to enemies.

- Vulnerability to attacks - this character fights in melee range and is less durable than a Dark Lord, making him somewhat easy to kill;

- Expert skills allow the Blader to increase his own effectiveness, but they don't offer anything to the rest of the party;

- Two of his abilities apply Fear effect onto the enemies - when used incorrectly, those abilities can scatter the enemies around the entire screen, extending the fight;

- Some of his abilities apply additional aggro onto the enemies, forcing them to attack the Blader - this can be problematic when in party with a Dark Lord, because he won't be able to keep enemies in control.

Expert skills

The Blader, similarly to all other classes, has access to 6 expert skills. Each of them features a passive and an active part. The skills are:

  1. Strong - the passive part increases the chance to dodge and gives a boost to health points. The active part decreases the amount of damage the Bladder receives for a few seconds.
  2. Fear - the passive part increases the damage dealt by the character when his health points drop below 50%. The active part allows the character to perform a roar, dealing damage to nearby enemies, applying an effect that will increase the amount of damage they take from further attacks and also applying Fear.
  3. Gush - the passive part allow the character to deal higher damage when he is surrounded by more than 5 enemies. The active part allows the Blader to perform a powerful attack that launches the enemies into the air, stuns them and deals damage.
  4. Overdrive - the passive part increases the attack speed of the weapon skills. The active part makes the Blader grow in size, increasing his health pool and the rate at which he regenerates MP.
  5. Fray - the passive part gives the Blader a buff that will reduce the amount of damage received after taking the first hit. The active part allows him to spin his weapon, dealing damage to the enemies as he moves (the ability has 5 charges and 1 charge regenerates every 4 seconds).
  6. Breakthrough - the passive part grants increased movement speed when Leap Attack and Charge skills are used. The active part allows the player to decrease the cooldown of both of those skills by 50%.

Tips

Blader expert skills allow the character to increase his effectiveness and deal immense damage.

You should remember about the following things:

  1. Check carefully all of the available skills for this character class - especially those connected to particular weapon types - and decide which playstyle suits you better. In the case of the Blader the differences are significant - two-handed sword allows the character to deal higher damage, whereas the pair of one-handed swords restore health each time the character hits an enemy. You must choose whether you want to take out enemies quicker, or to be able to last longer.
  2. The Blader is perfectly suited for solo play. This character deals huge damage and can hack through the enemies. He is durable enough to take on the bosses on his own (aside from the ones you encounter on the highest difficulty levels and in epic dungeons). Finally, he has great mobility, allowing him to effectively farm items, gold (Zen) and crafting materials.
  3. If you are planning to play solo, you should use abilities that offer crowd control (CC) effects. The ones you should consider are the Charge and the Fierce Rage abilities - both of those allow the Blader to stun enemies and prevent them from doing anything during that time.
  4. Use the Fear-inducing abilities with care. The Blader is a character fighting in melee range only - direct contact with the enemy is required. There's no point in using those abilities every several seconds, as you will scatter monsters all around the screen, reducing the amount of enemies you can simultaneously damage. If you want to use those abilities, save them for a special occasion - like, for instance, when you need to scatter enemies to survive.
  5. Regardless of your playstyle, you should always use Leap Attack ability. This skill deals considerable damage, but it's best used when you need to escape - when the character is surrounded or driven into a corner and it's certain that he will die. All you need to do then is to simply use the ability to perform the jump and regroup.
  6. This character can be effective in a party, but it requires some communication with the rest of the team. Blader skills allow him to scatter the enemies (by using Fear) or to force enemies to attack him (by increasing aggro), which can be detrimental to the team - when, for instance, one of the team members is going to use a powerful area of effect attack or when the Dark Lord can keep the enemies in check.
  7. If you are planning to use the Leap Attack and/or Charge abilities, use the Breakthrough expert skill as well. This skill causes the Blader to receive a huge movement speed boost whenever Leap Attack or Charge is used and the active part decreases the cooldowns of both of them by 50%.
  8. Don't even try to make a dedicated tank out of a Blader. This character can be an effective tank when there's no Dark Lord in the party, but won't be able to surpass him at this role. Instead of losing precious skill slots and equipment upgrades on defense, focus on increasing the attack of the character.
