Necromancer | Classes Guild Wars 2 Guide
Last update: 11 May 2016
A mage summoning the undeads, poisoning enemies and causing area damage: the necromancer. Although he is wearing a light armor, he is one of the most resistant heroes in the game, who can drain enemy's life. Moreover, he has a special skill death shroud (using the unique life force), which increases his stamina and provides new attacks:
- Life Blast - the more life force you have, the more damage you cause
- Dark Path - it lets you approach the enemy and freeze him
- Doom - makes you enemy run away
- Life Transfer - short-ranged life-draining and life force restoring attack
Necromancer has rather limited choice of weapon, but his attacks are usually from distance and often cause negative effects, so often changes of equipment isn't necessary. he also can use:
Group | Effect |
Corruptions | Causes negative effects. |
Marks | Set a magic symbols which activation causes negative effects. |
Minions | Summons undeads. |
Spectrals | Spells using the spectral energy. |
Wells | Influencing the environment. |
Although his damage isn't too big, necromancer is a perfect character to PvE. He is difficult to be killed. During playing in the group you can be sure, that the necromancer will be the last man standing and resurrecting teammates.
In PvP necromancer relies on causing negative effects and bleeding out the enemies. The longer the battle takes, the more advantage he gets. Thanks to life draining, freezing or frightening he is able to hold the defended spot even against the massive enemy forces.
