Throwing items in Gloomwood is a useful mechanic you should learn how to use. This page of the guide contains a few tips on how to throw items, such as bottles, to distract your enemies.
To throw something, you must:
- approach the item you wish to throw so it lights up, letting you know it's interactive;
- grab it without adding it to your inventory - hold down the F key, the item will hover in front of you as pictured above;
- throw it - click the left mouse button. Aiming the camera higher will let you throw it further.
The main throwables are bottles which break on impact, drawing the enemies' attention. You can also throw other small items, though they won't always distract them.
Sometimes you may accidentally add the item to your inventory instead of grabbing it (pressing F instead of holding it). If you do, open your luggage case and throw the item out - pick the DROP option from the item menu or drag it out of the case (example pictured above).
