The Elder Scrolls Video Game Series
The Elder Scrolls
A series of action-RPG games in high-fantasy realities, ranked among the top of the genre. The series is developed by Bethesda Softworks and is one of the key brands in the company's publishing portfolio.
Genesis The Elder Scrolls dates back to the 1990s, when the first two installments of the series were released - The Elder Scrolls. The Elder Scrolls: Arena (1994) and The Elder Scrolls: Daggerfall (1996). The modern direction of the series, however, was set by the game released in 2002 The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind, considered by many fans to be a classic of the genre.
The action of the games in the series The Elder Scrolls is set in the fictional world of Nirn, in which one can see many similarities to the Middle Ages, as well as the influence of Nordic culture. The events take place mainly on the continent of Tamriel and the surrounding islands. Despite the shared universe, the individual installments of the series are not directly linked by plot threads, although some elements (such as the titular Elder Scrolls) appear regularly.
Games in the mainstream of the series (marked with Roman numbers, e.g.. The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim) combine cRPG, action-RPG and adventure elements. The protagonist created by the player has a lot of freedom of action, they can perform hundreds of tasks not directly related to the main threads, as well as join various organizations and achieve their goals.
Among the strengths of the games in the series The Elder Scrolls include the richness of the interactive world, which has been evident especially since TES III: Morrowind. Traversing the vast lands, players can encounter dozens of smaller and larger cities, as well as hundreds of NPCs. Individual locations have been refined with attention to, among other things, details of the terrain, as well as flora and fauna.
Unlike most modern action-RPGs, the series of The Elder Scrolls offers play exclusively in single-player mode. The only exception to this rule is The Elder Scrolls Online, which is an MMORPG.

With the arrival of the last Dragonborn, an old prophecy heralding the return of Alduin - the dragon god of destruction - is set into motion. The game combines elements of dynamic action with Bethesda-style cRPG, featuring a complex system of character development and a vast, open world. High quality visuals in the game are generated by the Creation Engine, Bethesda's original graphics engine.

RPG
March 20, 2006

Just as in previous games in the series, The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion offers a great deal of freedom – both in creation and progression of your character as well as the order in which you undertake quests, many of which are procedurally generated. In the game you encounter over 40 species of monsters and visit several carefully-designed regions, characterized not only by unique landscapes, but also their own communities, history, and culture. Oblivion offers greatly improved visuals powered by the completely overhauled game engine and the Havok physics engine. Moreover, the PC version also has an expanded level editor implemented in the game.

As it turns out, the protagonist may be the reincarnation of the legendary, treacherously murdered hero by the name of Nerevar, and his mission is to stop the reemerging evil that his previous self had once defeated. The player can chooses from ten available races and twenty-one character classes - thanks to the game's flexible character progression system the character development is influenced mainly by the player's preferred gameplay style. The player can freely choose which quests to complete and when. The game's fully 3D visuals are a big step forward in comparison to the previous installments in the franchise. The Elder Scrolls II: Daggerfall
RPG
June 30, 1997
A sequel to the 1993’s RPG by Bethesda, which, despite its numerous bugs and issues, turned out to be a significant commercial success. In The Elder Scrolls II: Daggerfall, we assume the role of a hero who, ordered by the Emperor Uriel Septim VII, sets out to the eponymous city to investigate why the soul of King Lysandus was unable to rest in peace and why it haunts the city’s streets at night. As far as gameplay is concerned, the game does not deviate significantly from its predecessor and offers an even bigger world, twice the size of Great Britain, to explore. The title’s nonlinearity remains its biggest attraction, though. The huge amount of freedom of action allows us to develop the our hero in any and all ways as well as engage in a number of additional activities and side quests. Depending on the player’s choices, the production offers six different endings.
An Elder Scrolls Legend: Battlespire

In the game, we assume the role of a captain of the Imperial Guard whose task is to free Emperor Uriel Septim VII imprisoned in another dimension by an evil wizard. To achieve this, the protagonist has to escape prison, and obtain eight pieces of a powerful artifact known as the Staff of Chaos. The game is characterized by high, almost unforgiving, difficulty level. The title is completely non-linear and allows the players to choose their own path. The production also impresses with the size of its world that contains more than 400 towns and villages as well as vast dungeons and labyrinths that hide around 2500 magical items.
