A strategy card game set in the universe of a well-known RPG series that has been developed since 1994 by Bethesda Softworks. In terms of game mechanics, The Elder Scrolls: Legends takes after the competing Hearthstone: Heroes of Warcraft, and the gameplay comes down to dueling with a self-built deck of cards representing heroes, equipment, spells, skills etc.

Game Informer: 8.3 / 10 by Daniel Tack
A nice addition to the current crop of digital card games and absolutely worth a try if you’re fan of the genre
PC Aficionado: 7 / 10
Good. Despite a barebones listing of modes and forgettable singleplayer content, Legends satisfies both newcomers and veterans alike, and the core game offers enough twists on the formula to stand out from the competition.
PC Gamer: 78 / 100 by Tim Clark
A deep, and potentially rewarding alternative to Hearthstone that suffers from underwhelming art design and desperately needs an injection of players to grow the scene.
The Elder Scrolls: Legends Description
The Elder Scrolls: Legends is strategy card game, set in the universe of the iconic RPG series, launched in 1994 on PC. The title is available in a free-to-play model, and it was developed by Bethesda's in-house dev team, i.e. the developers of all previous installments of the series, including The Elder Scrolls Online: Tamriel Unlimited, MMORPG released in 2014.
Mechanics
The mechanics of The Elder Scrolls: Legends are fundamentally similar to other popular card games like Hearthstone: Heroes of Warcraft from Blizzard, who was supposed to be the direct competitor of Bethesda's game. The main difference is that the title combines elements of narrative and characters, known from the subsequent installments of The Elder Scrolls series, such as Morrowind, Oblivion or Skyrim, as well as The Elder Scrolls Online, which gives the game a unique character.
While playing, the players build their decks of cards from heroes of various races, such as the Nords, Orcs, Khajiit, Dark Elves or Argonians, and take part in subsequent battles with artificial intelligence or other players. The main goal of the game is to eliminate the opponent by taking away all their life points. This can be achieved directly by attacking the player with the available cards, or indirectly by killing their units set up in two lines on the table. As the game progresses, we expand our deck, adjusting it to our individual style of play.
The Elder Scrolls: Legends is distinguished by several elements from the competition. First of all, we have more cards in the deck (from 50 to 70). Secondly, the games are a little longer than in Hearthstone, and the mechanic of acquiring extra cards during the loss of life points effectively blocks fast decks, aimed at winning in the first few turns. The most striking difference, however, is the division of the board into two independent rows; in addition, the cards on the right-hand row are temporarily shielded from attacks, which changes the approach to deploying creatures and forces a more tactical approach to gameplay.
Game modes
Like most collectible card games, The Elder Scrolls: Legends focuses on multiplayer battles that can take place in battle mode or arena. However, for those who prefer solo gameplay, there is also an extensive story campaign, in which we are fighting with opponents controlled by AI.
Technical aspects
The Elder Scrolls: Legends features refined, fully three-dimensional visuals, maintained in a fantasy atmosphere, well known to all fans of Bethesda's series. The control model used in the game has been developed in such a way as to work equally well on traditional mice and touch screens of mobile devices.
