One of the most promising upcoming mods for The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim Special Edition is Skyblivion, a fan-made remake of The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion. This is a major project, so players anticipating it might find it interesting that it has reached an important milestone in the development cycle.

  1. The creators boasted that they have already recreated the entire map of the Cyrodiil region, which will appear in the mod.
  2. This doesn't mean that all locations are ready yet. The developers will now spend a lot of time improving them. Especially the oldest locations need to be upgraded, so they don't lag behind in quality compared to the rest.
  3. Recreating the entire map is a big achievement, and shows that the project is almost finished.

The creators plan to release the mod this year, although, with such major modifications, potential delays always have to be taken into account.

There have also recently been more and more rumors about the official remake of The Elder Scrolls 4: Oblivion. According to these reports, the project is not only supposed to improve the graphics but also make significant changes to the gameplay mechanics. If these speculations are confirmed, we are curious how this project will compare to the fan-made Skyblivion.
