The Elder Scrolls Online: Waking Flame

The Elder Scrolls Online: Waking Flame is the twenty-second expansion for the online installment of The Elder Scrolls series. The DLC was released alongside the game's 31st major update, which introduced new features on consoles and a handful of improvements across all platforms. Like the main release of this MMORPG, Waking Flame was developed by the ZeniMax Online Studios team.

Plot

Waking Flame continues the storyline focused on the Gates of Oblivion, which began in Flames of Ambition and continued in Blackwood. Here we learn about two infamous stories. The first presents the fate of the once noble Order of the Silver Rose fighting against the terrors beyond the Gate, which fell due to its own greed. The second takes us to an abandoned prison, one of the Empire's grim secrets.

Mechanics

With the debut of Waking Flame, two dungeons appeared in TESO: The Dread Cellar and Red Petal Bastion. In both we will find new bosses, unique items and sets with bonuses for the hero and achievements. Both challenges are available in three variants, varying in difficulty level: Normal, Veteran and Hard.

Technical aspects

Graphically, Waking Flame has not made any major changes. However, update 31 has slightly improved the performance of TESO and introduced new optimisation options, including multi-threaded rendering (as part of beta testing). There is also an option to reply directly to messages from other players.
