Dragon Bones is an expansion to The Elder Scrolls Online – an MMORPG. The DLC described herein has been developed by ZeniMax Online Studios and is available (among other platforms) on PC, PS4 and XONE.
Plot
The Elder Scrolls Online: Dragon Bones for PC, PS4 and XONE features two new dungeons that have certain stories related to them. The most important is the Fang Lair – ancient Dwarven ruins where a necromancer known by the name of Orryn performs a mysterious ritual to revive the dragon skeleton lying there. The second dungeon – Scalecaller Peak – is the burial place of a Dragon Priest, where you have to face the cultists trying to bring a plague down on Tamriel. In both cases, the main protagonist is tasked with stopping the danger at hand.
Mechanics
When traversing the aforementioned dungeons, players have to face the adversaries featured in the base game as well as entirely new ones, such as the undead. Interestingly enough, both dungeons are available in standard and veteran modes. Those who decide to pick up the challenge can count on getting unique items, collectibles, and achievements. For example, for entering one of the dungeons, the main protagonist receives the Dragon Priest Mask.
The expansion described herein has been released along with a free update no. 17 that introduced several novelties to the base game. These include i.a. two new arenas (Mor Khazgur and Deeping Drome), the option to make cosmetic changes to pieces of armor, option to store items thanks to the furniture, and the special tip system designed to help players develop their character and proposing certain directions to take.
Technical aspects
The PC, PS4 and XONE release of The Elder Scrolls Online: Dragon Bones is not a standalone expansion – in order to play, you have to own the base game. This DLC does not alter the games audiovisuals in any way.
