The Elder Scrolls Online: Shadows of the Hist

Shadows of the Hist is the title of another DLC pack for the MMORPG called The Elder Scrolls Online. Just like the base game, which the add-on requires to run, the expansion was released for PC, XONE and PS4, among other platforms, and was developed by ZeniMax Online Studios.

Plot

Some of the new things introduced by The Elder Scrolls Online: Shadows of the Hist are two new Argonian dungeons, which are directly related to the main plot of the add-on. The first one is the Cradle of Shadows, where players help the Argonians from the Dark Brotherhood fight a group of assassins, whose actions may result in plunging the Black Marsh into chaos. The other one is the Ruins of Mazzatun – some mysterious ruins of a city built by the Argonians of the Xit-Xaht tribe, who force other lizardmen into slavery, working on a secret project that has driven them crazy.

Mechanics

The aforementioned dungeons are available both in normal difficulty and in veteran mode; just like it is with all other dungeons, its level is scaled to the experience level of the leader of the group of players who dare to face the dangers lurking down there. Besides, some new achievements await for unlocking in The Elder Scrolls Online: Shadows of the Hist for PC, XONE and PS4 as well as a bunch of collectibles and new pieces of equipment and gear for the player’s hero (spearheaded by the so-called Monster Masks).

It’s worth noting that the add-on was released along with a free update marked with the number 11, which brought a lot of innovations to the original game. The long list of changes introduced by the patch includes such things as the option to change your character’s race, appearance and name, the ability to capture cities in the Cyrodill province, tweaks for Aetherian Archive, Hel Ra Citadel and Dragonstar Arena, improved balance of passive skills that are exclusive to individual races, or finally, text chat for console versions.

Shadwos of the Hist does not change the audiovisuals of The Elder Scrolls Online in any way.
