The developers of Extinction claim that while humans always kept fighting with each other, the aforementioned monsters were the real threat and they finally decided to step out of shadows. Only specially trained Sentinels can face them and there aren’t that many of them left. The player assumes the role of one of the last Sentinels – a warrior named Avil.

Nimbatus: The Space Drone Constructor is a 2D dexterity simulator, in which we build more and more perfect drones from available parts. The player has to adapt the machine parameters to a specific mission using a special editor or take into account the annihilation of the drona by enemy robots. A bit of engineering inventiveness is also useful - in some tasks manoeuvrable scouts will perform better, while others require large combat platforms.

During the game we explore the procedurally generated interiors of the ships and we break through hosts of adversaries, gradually increasing our combat potential. The whole was enriched with two-dimensional graphics maintained in cartoon style.

You take part in a series of missions, which usually require you to infiltrate a building and save hostages. This, however, is not easy, as your character can die at the hands of all sorts of criminals: sprinters armed with knives, terrorists wearing bomb vests, or mobsters armed to the teeth.
