Are there difficulty levels?

Yes, in Frostpunk 2 you can choose one of several difficulty levels. This applies to both Story and Utopia builder modes. Available presets are:

1. Citizen;
2. Officer;
3. Steward;
4. Captain.

Interestingly, the choice of difficulty level does not have to be limited to choosing only one of the four pre-defined sets. Gameplay can be easily modified by the player, who can adjust the difficulty of specific aspects of the game separately. These are:

1. Economy - determining how well citizens cope with inconveniences and problems related to lack of basic resources.
2. Weather - affects how severe and predictable winters and snowstorms are.
3. Frostland - determines how rich in resources the wasteland surrounding the city is.
4. Society - decides how resilient and cooperative the city's inhabitants are.

If, for example, you want a resource-intensive gameplay experience but don't want to worry too much about the moods of your citizens, you can easily adjust this using the sliders.

The detailed selection of the difficulty level is available right away when selecting a scenario chapter. In Utopia builder mode, simply click the gear icon in the "Difficulty Level" table.

Can the difficulty level be changed during the game?

Very important - you will not be able to change the difficulty level once you start playing! So think carefully about whether a particular mode is right for you.

Frostpunk 2 is quite a difficult game, especially for new players unfamiliar with the genre. If you have not played the previous game, we recommend that you start your first game on the "Citizen" level and carefully study the tutorials provided by the game.
