Earning all 51 achievements in Frostpunk 2 is a big challenge, demanding near-perfect mastery of the game and multiple completions, including on the highest difficulty level. Story trophies can only be unlocked in the campaign, while all other achievements can be obtained both in the campaign and in the utopia builder mode. On this page of the guide, we have listed all the achievements in the game and explained how to get them.

The End is Just the Beginning
- How to unlock: Make sure the Wanderers survive the Whiteout.
- Comment: You can get this achievement during the prologue. You need to gather enough food on time or get very close to the required amount before time runs out and a Whiteout arrives.
No lesser evil
- How to unlock: Ensure the survival of the Wanderers by saving the seals and not driving away the elders.
- Comment: You can get this achievement during the prologue. At some point, the game will offer you a significant advantage by allowing you to achieve a goal more easily in exchange for wiping out a nearby seal colony (increased food production) or expelling the oldest citizens from the settlement (reduced required amount of food). To achieve the goal, you must refuse and collect the required amount of food on time without the offered facilitation.
Bring it on!
- How to unlock: Complete "Defeat the Frost" or "Embrace the Frost" before Whiteout.
- Comment: You can get this achievement during the second chapter. You need to build the chosen generator upgrade before the Whiteout arrives. You will likely achieve this automatically - the time limit is very generous, and without improvement, you are unlikely to survive the Whiteout and won't be able to proceed further.
Don't starve
- How to unlock: Have no Hunger in New London for the entire duration of the Whiteout.
- Comment: You can get this achievement during the second chapter. During the whiteout, food production decreases significantly, so you must concentrate on producing food throughout the entire chapter and stockpile enough food to last until the whiteout is over.
Adapted to Weather
- How to unlock: Have Disease Absent and Cold Absent for 20 weeks, when there is at least -100 Celsius degrees.
- Comment: The temperature drops to such low levels during a whiteout. The only whiteout in the campaign takes place during the second chapter. To achieve this, you must provide shelter for all citizens and store enough fuel to keep the generator running during a whiteout.
Coredigger
- How to unlock: Salvage all cores deposits in Winterhome before toxic gases engulf the city.
- Comment: You can get this achievement during the fourth chapter. You have to salvage Winterhome and fully exploit all the core deposits before the gas engulfs the city. Quickly break the ice, reach the cores and build extraction districts on them.
Plumber
- How to unlock: Clog all gas source before first rise of toxicity on at least Steward difficulty.
- Comment: You can get this achievement during the fourth chapter by playing on the Steward difficulty level or higher. You need to settle Winterhome and seal all gas sources before the first increase in toxicity - about 40 weeks. Break the ice as quickly as possible to reach the gas sources and build filtering districts - have a few cores in reserve, as you need them to build these districts.
Peacemaker
- How to unlock: End the civil war through the Path of Reconciliation.
- Comment: A civil war will occur during the fifth chapter of the game. You must meet the demands of all factions and vote for the signing of the peace accords to end the conflict. It's worth mentioning that a peace accords will be impossible if you have explored a special idea, to which you only gain access after fulfilling one of the axes of the political zeitgeist.
Moving out
- How to unlock: Have the banished faction leave New London of their own accord.
- Comment: A civil war will occur during the fifth chapter of the game. You have to banish one of the factions by building a colony for them in Windward Moor. If you invest enough resources in building a colony and expand it sufficiently, the faction will leave the city.
I love democracy
- How to unlock: Have no votes against Captain's Authority policy.
- Comment: You must pass the last law in the Rule tree, thereby becoming a dictator. Use the skills you gained from previous laws and hold a vote when tensions are high, such as during the civil war in chapter 5.
Firm, But Civil
- How to unlock: No deaths caused by Civil War during the whole game.
- Comment: You must prevent casualties during the civil war (the only such war in the campaign takes place in the fifth chapter). You need a huge number of guards to gradually end skirmishes in the districts, while at the same time protecting civilians in the remaining districts engulfed in violence.
Bonfire
- How to unlock: Don't let Faction War spread over 5 or more districts.
- Comment: You must prevent the civil war from spreading (the only such war in the campaign takes place in the fifth chapter). You need a huge number of guards to suppress the conflict as quickly as possible.
The Ambitions of New London
- How to unlock: Complete the Story on any difficulty.
- Comment: You must complete the single player campaign on any difficulty.
The Temptations of New London
- How to unlock: Complete the Story on at least Steward difficulty.
- Comment: You must complete the single player campaign on Steward or Captain difficulty.
The Demons of New London
- How to unlock: Complete the Story on Captain difficulty.
- Comment: You must complete the single player campaign on Captain difficulty.
Checks and balances
- How to unlock: Complete the Story without passing any Rule laws on at least Captain difficulty.
- Comment: You must complete the single player campaign on Captain difficulty without implementing any laws from the "Rule" category. So, you'll likely have to take the banishment path during the civil war in chapter 5 - both the peace accords and captain authority are "Rule" laws.
Another day in paradise
- How to unlock: Complete the playthrough in the Utopia Builder.
- Comment: You must complete a game in Utopia Builder mode by keeping the city alive until the Steward/Captain dies of old age.
Not on my watch
- How to unlock: Complete a playthrough without any avoidable deaths.
- Comment: Avoid dangerous activities such as emergency shifts (during which people sometimes die), dangerous laws (e.g. Progress laws related to machinery) and have enough guards to be able to protect citizens and end skirmishes during civil wars.
Isolationism
- How to unlock: Finish the game without gathering any resources from the frostland or colonies.
- Comment: You will probably have to do this in Utopia Builder mode - in campaign mode, the coal around the city will quickly run out, and other types of fuel can only be mined in colonies.
People person
- How to unlock: Have maximum trust.
- Comment: To get this achievement you must fill the golden trust bar at the bottom of the screen. This will likely happen on its own as you progress through the campaign mode - several events, such as completing the main objective at the end of chapter 4, drastically increase trust for a period of time. Maintaining high relations with factions also increases it.
New Oxbridge
- How to unlock: Double starting Research speed.
- Comment: Build more research institutes, make scientists work faster, and implement laws that accelerate research.
There is No Final Design
- How to unlock: Change a policy to another one, and then pass the previous one once again.
- Comment: To get this achievement you must enact any law and then pass another law of the same category. Then vote on the previous law once again.
Lawmaker
- How to unlock: Pass at least 20 new laws in a single playthrough.
- Comment: You will probably earn this achievement during the campaign - research new laws on the Research tree and call votes whenever possible.
Chancellor of the Exchequer
- How to unlock: Have at least 50 income of heatstamps.
- Comment : Take care of population growth and the Heatstamps income by signing laws that increase these parameters. You will receive a particularly large bonus for implementing the liquor stores supported by the city.
Urban Planner
- How to unlock: Have 10 districts affected by hubs.
- Comment: Build hubs near districts - a district will be affected by the hub effect if at least three of its fields are located in the center zone.
Steward Little
- How to unlock: Have negative relations with all communities and factions.
- Comment: You can get this achievement very easily - save the game, turn off the generator, and wait until the escalating problems cause the relations with the factions to drop, while making demands on them.
Law and Order
- How to unlock: Have Crime and Tension Absent in the City with at least 30k population.
- Comment: Take care of population growth, good relations with factions, a constant influx of goods, and build watchtowers and prisons.
Mixed signals
- How to unlock: Have rallies and protests in the City at the same time.
- Comment: This achievement is easiest to obtain by fully agreeing with the views of one faction, keeping relations with it at a high level, and relations with the opposing faction at a low level. The supported faction will start organizing rallies, while the ignored faction will start organizing protests.
Paradise City
- How to unlock: Have all problems absent for 50 weeks in the City with at least 15k population.
- Comment: You must keep the city in good condition - ensure a constant inflow of resources and preventively build buildings that prevent problems, such as hospitals and watchtowers.
Quiet Backwater
- How to unlock: Have no problems higher than Minor in a colony for 300 weeks.
- Comment: You must take care of your colony by frequently checking its needs, ensuring a steady flow of resources, and constructing buildings to prevent problems.
Settler
- How to unlock: Set up 3 colonies.
- Comment: Explore the Frostlands to find places where you can establish a colony. In Story mode, you can achieve this by following the Adaptation path and choosing to banish the enemy faction in the fifth chapter - then you will establish colonies in the old dreadnought, the ruins of Winterhome, and Windward Moor.
Can't stop progress
- How to unlock: Have Squalor Absent despite having at least 1000 Material Demand.
- Comment: This achievement is easiest to obtain by following the Progress path - buildings from this path require a lot of materials. After building a sufficient number of buildings, construct filtration towers and use their abilities to reduce the level of Squalor to zero.
FrostCity
- How to unlock: Have at least 5 different area effects applied to the district.
- Comment: To easily get this achievement, build an isolated district and surround it with different hubs.
No-brainer
- How to unlock: Have 100% of delegates vote in favour of any law.
- Comment: This achievement will be easiest to obtain after implementing laws from the "Rule" category that make voting easier. If you become a captain by implementing the Captain's Authority law, every vote will end with all delegates voting according to your will.
Power Overwhelming 2.0
- How to unlock: Hidden achievement - Have twice as much heat abundance as heat demand.
- Comment: Following the Progress path, after fully upgrading the generator, acquire a significant surplus of oil and activate the generator's special functions - surplus sacrifice and overload.
Visionary
- How to unlock: Research 60 different ideas under 600 weeks.
- Comment: Build several Research Institutes and research ideas throughout the game - immediately after completing the research, start the next one.
Pork Barrel
- How to unlock: Fulfill at least 1 promise to 5 different communities and factions in one playthrough.
- Comment: You can only get this achievement in the Utopia Builder mode - in the campaign you will only encounter four groups at a time.
Green Power
- How to unlock: Fulfil at least 300 Heat demand using Steam and have absent Squalor.
- Comment: To get this achievement you must follow the Adaptation path and gain access to steam deposits. Also place buildings that reduce Squalor, e.g. filtering towers.
Idle Hands are the Devil's Playthings
- How to unlock: Have at least 90% of the population be active workers in your city.
- Comment: Follow the Progress and Merit paths - investing in automation will increase the workforce without affecting the population size.
Primus inter pares
- How to unlock: Never be in danger of losing your position due to low Trust or high Tension.
- Comment: Maintain balance between factions and meet the needs of your citizens to keep high Trust and low Tension. This achievement can only be obtained in the Utopia Builder mode - every civil war increases the Tension to the maximum, and the civil war in the fifth chapter cannot be avoided.
Revered Leader
- How to unlock: Have "Devoted" standing with every community.
- Comment: Maintain balance between factions, fulfill their requests and give them Heatstamps to increase relations with all of them at once. The achievement is much easier to obtain in the Utopia Builder mode, as you will face fewer significant decisions than in the Story mode.
Anger management
- How to unlock: Don't let the Fervour of any faction reach maximum level in a playthrough.
- Comment: Maintain strong relationships with communities to be able to ask for deradicalization if necessary, and use prisons in times of need. You will achieve this exclusively in the Utopia Builder mode - at the end of the Story mode, the fervour of one of the factions will always be full.
To each according to his needs
- How to unlock: Have at least 20k heatstamps and over 200k Goods stockpile.
- Comment: Invest in the extraction of materials and the production of goods in Industrial Districts. Also invest in rights that increase the influx of Heatstamps and population growth. The easiest way to get the achievement is to play in the Utopia Builder mode - once you expand the city, you will be able to wait and store both Heatstamps and goods.
Megalopolis
- How to unlock: Reach over 60,000 population in your main city.
- Comment: Invest in laws that increase population growth and focus on developing your main city instead of the colonies. This achievement is much easier to obtain in the Utopia Builder mode - you won't have to rely on the colony in an old dreadnought to collect oil.
Sneak a Peek
- How to unlock: See 10 different situations near a district hub.
- Comment: You will earn this achievement by simply playing the game - events and situations appear randomly.
Likeable
- How to unlock: Never have relations worse than Sceptical with any community or faction.
- Comment: Balance your relationships with all factions and their ideologies - do not implement radical laws. Pay off the factions whose relations will drop and make promises to them.
We Are Not The Same
- How to unlock: Meet all factions in Utopia Builder mode.
- Comment: Start multiple games in Utopia Builder, developing your city a little differently each time. In total, there are eight factions in the mode, which will separate from the community after a short time.
Consistency
- How to unlock: Never research a building or pass a law of the opposite ideology to the one you already have.
- Comment: Focus on pleasing one faction and reduce the influence the other faction has. Never conduct research proposed by the second faction and make sure that the laws they propose are not passed.
... and fill the earth
- How to unlock: Reach over 50,000 population outside of your main city.
- Comment: Invest in laws and ideas that increase population growth and in external colonies. Transfer citizens from the main city to the colony.
Ambitious
- How to unlock: Complete all Ambitions in Utopia Builder mode.
- Comment: Ambitions chosen at the very beginning of the game are your main goals in the Utopia Builder mode - you should focus on them throughout the game.
Thank you for your feedback
- How to unlock: Disregard community request 5 times in one playthrough.
- Comment: Occasionally factions and communities will tell you about their problems and ask for solutions - ignore them.
