Fortnite Battle Royale for Nintendo Switch - How to play Fortnite: Battle Royale Guide
Last update: 27 June 2018
Not so long ago, a short and concise information shared in LA during the E3 circulated the media. The message was: Fortnite: Battle Royale is coming to Nintendo Switch right now. Installation of the game couldn't be easier. You just need to enter the Nintendo store, search for "Fortnite" and install the app. It Yeses just 3GB, so the game should install before you can help yourself to a cup of coffee. Tell your friends playing on other platforms to warm up because, I said it, the game supports cross-platform gameplay.
That's actually a thing! You can play with people using different gaming systems. There's one catch, though: currently, you cannot create teams with PlayStation 4 users - you have to go with mobile, PC and Xbox One folks.
Another thing is your account. If you have accounts on platforms other than PS4, you will be able to use your login to play on Switch. The people, who have joined their main Epic Games account with PS4, won't be able to do that.
The chart below shows users of which platform can play with whom:
Platform | Windows/Mac | Xbox One | PlayStation4 | Mobile | Nintendo Switch |
Windows/Mac | Yes | Yes | Yes | Yes | Yes |
Xbox One | Yes | Yes | No | Yes | Yes |
PlayStation 4 | Yes | No | Yes | Yes | No |
Mobile | Yes | Yes | Yes | Yes | Yes |
Nintendo Switch | Yes | Yes | No | Yes | Yes |
