Grenades in Fortnite: Battle Royale are basic tools for destroying enemy fortifications. They deal high damage, but the throwing range is very short. However, it is a good idea to have them on you as a replacement for the more powerful grenade launcher or RPG. These are not divided into any classes and they work rather as an extra piece of equipment. A single grenade explosion can kill the opponent and deprive him of the entire health bar (without shields).

Grenade launcher

Grenade launcher is a good replacement for grenades. It deals 5% damage less, but has longer range. Armed with grenade launcher, you can destroy an enemy fort several tens of meters away and it is perfect for throwing grenades into tall, fortified watchtowers. Just like with a regular grenade, you can eliminate an opponent with full health bar. There are several classes of grenade launchers - blue, purple and orange.

Guided Missle

Guided Missle - It's just as effective weapon as the regular rocket launcher. The difference is in the way you use it. Once a rocket has been launched, you will be able to control the projectile until it explodes. A perfect weapon for getting rid of players who are hiding in their fortress. The rocket launcher is also the best weapon when it comes to destroying enemy structures. A single rocket can destroy a whole fort (1x1) that wasn't built from metal. Additionally, if you see that someone is assaulting your position (building two pairs of stairs and walls behind them is one of the examples), a single rocket is enough to destroy the whole construction.

Rocket-propelled grenade

RPG is the most powerful and the rarest weapon in the game. Using it, you can destroy an enemy fort at a very long distance and its damage kills an enemy with full health bar. As of now (patch 1.7) RPG is very accurate and has high rate of fire, which makes it useful even at short distance, since the radius of the blast is quite long. Just like in the case of grenade launchers there are several classes - blue, purple and orange.

Boogie Bomb

Boogie Bomb takes space in your inventory and it is a variant of a regular grenade. Using it on an enemy (or on yourself) forces its target to dance but an enemy (or you) can still control a character. In short - an enemy can escape but they can't shoot back. Very useful during fights on a short distance. Additionally, it is frequently a good way to perform a very easy elimination. Combining the boogie bomb with a shotgun is one of the tactics that will leave your opponent with no chances.

Smoke Grenade

Smoke grenade is another variant of a regular one. It creates a small smoke cloud that blocks visibility. This effects lasts for a few seconds. The item is currently in the vault and it is impossible to obtain it.

Impulse Grenade

Impulse Grenade is another variant of grenades in the game. When used on an opponent (or on yourself or an ally), the player is shot into the air. A perfect tool to move quickly or to reduce the distance between you and your opponent.

Stink Bomb

A Sting Bomb is a grenade, which after being thrown is destroyed like a Molotov cocktail. Causing 10 damage per second for 9 seconds, the grenade produces a deadly gas cloud that will wipe out even the most hardened campers.

Clinger

Clinger is a type of grenade that can attack to any surface (ground, wall, enemy). It is a perfect tool to eliminate enemies hidden behind various structures. It is worth mentioning that one clinger deals more than 100 damage, so it is capable of killing an opponent without a shield.

Shockwave grenade

Shockwave grenade is another type of pulse grenade. After using it, it will throw you or your opponent to a long distance. The difference is that after being thrown, the character doesn't receive any impact damage and he or she destroys anything on his or her way.
