Tips for beginning in Fortnite: Battle Royale:
Warm-up and landing
The game starts after you are dropped over the island that you can explore, where you can find weapons and learn to shoot. This part is a warm-up and, in any way, this is not a part of the game proper, which starts several seconds after you make it to the island.
The game proper starts when you get into the Battle Bus. Here, you gave to decide where you want to land (it is best to mark the location on the map) and jump out at the right moment. Locations marked on the map with their names (e.g. Greasy Grove), will usually have lots of gear, but they usually swarm with other players. This means that you will have to fight over materials. Keep in mind that each time Battle Bus flies over the island in a different direction, you may land in your within sensible time. Therefore, it is a good idea to experiment with other locations, just in case.
Exploration and gathering of gear
After you land, start searching for gear. The majority of items have been hidden in houses and sheds, so go there first. An important aspect of exploration is locating crate s and your hearing will help you with that. As soon as you get within sufficient distance of the treasure, you will hear characteristic sound that you will be able to find, using your earphones. The majority of crate s have been hidden in the attics, behind walls and in basements, so it is important to destroy objects and to build stairs using materials you have found.
While exploring, also be on a lookout for ammo crates. They are hidden, but you can usually find them in the same locations. In houses, you find them under stairs to the first floor. In hangars and factories, they are on metal shelves, whereas in barns, behind haystacks.
After you have geared up, you will have to gather materials. This is an important element of survival that gains in importance towards the end of the match, when storm circles are getting smaller and smaller and there is nowhere to hide. Wood is the most common building material, and the least durable at the same time. Use it only for exploration. The easiest way to obtain wood ids from big trees (the largest amounts). Another material is stone/clay. You can obtain it by destroying brick walls and from stones lying in the open. Clay is a better material for fortifications than wood, but not as durable as metal. Therefore, metal is the best material for fortifications, due to its defense points. Only metal structures are capable of withstanding explosions of rockets (one explosion) and building these should be your priority towards the end of the match. It is best to obtain metal from cars (destroy trucks to obtain the largest amount).
Note! Quality of gear that you find depends on luck only. Finding a legendary RPG in a crate in one match does not mean that you find one there in the next one.
