General Tips Guide The Evil Within 2
Last update: 20 October 2017
The Evil Within 2 is a survival horror game. Because of that, the title is much more difficult than typical action games. In this chapter you will find a set of advice that will help you during the game and will familiarize you with the basic mechanics.
1. If there is an enemy near your character (or a few enemies) and he hasn't detected you, try not to attract his attention. It is better to sneak up on enemies and eliminate them quietly - this will enable you to save ammunition, to eliminate the opponent frequently with a single attack and to avoid attracting attention.
2. Look around thoroughly. There are dozens of items hidden in the game. That doesn't only include collectibles, but ammunition, medicaments, crafting resources as well - collecting them all will make the game much easier.
3. Complete side missions and explore the map. The second entry in The Evil Within series features a half-open world - you still have predetermined objectives, but you can also complete side missions and explore places that aren't mandatory. Description of all side missions and ways of finding hidden objects can be found in this guide.
4. Destroy all chests, barrels, vases, and other items that can be destroyed. Frequently they hide valuable items like ammunition, Green Gel and medicaments. Use the Survival Knife to destroy them - you will obtain it in chapter 2.
5. Try saving ammunition. If you don't need to, don't shoot the enemy but kill him quietly. Additional ammunition is always useful during the boss battles.
6. Even if you aren't interested in collectibles, try finding all Locker keys. Thanks to them you can open special lockers with valuable items like rare ammunition or great quantities of the Green Gel. In the guide you will find information about the location of keys (and all other collectibles).
7. Regularly upgrade equipment and the character. This will greatly increase effectiveness of your character and equipment and make the game easier.
8. Search the bodies of killed enemies! Most enemies leave jars with Green Gel - it can be used for upgrading the character and unlocking passive skills, making the protagonist more effective in combat.
9. Don't even think about melee combat, especially against greater number of enemies. If you want to kill with a knife, do it from behind, so that the enemy won't be able to counterattack.
10. Focus your sight and hearing to make the game easier. Many enemies can be located by the sounds they create. You can even find them before you can see them - this can provide the much needed advantage. Same goes with items - they are hidden in logical places (side of a building, a drawer), which means that if you look thoroughly you will easily find them.
