Chapter 2 - Something Not Quite Right | Walkthrough Guide The Evil Within 2

During the second chapter you will learn the main gameplay mechanics and fight the first opponents.

The second chapter starts in an imaginary office of the main protagonist. Your first task is to become familiar with the photos of members of the previous team - you can find them on the board on the right side. On the other side of the room you will also find a drawing made by the daughter of the protagonist. At the wall near the sofa there is a marking that you can investigate.
Then walk into the next room and collect the Slide lying on the office - it is the first collectible you will find in the game. Now you can use the projector on the desk to examine the collected item. Other slides that you will find can be checked here as well.
Now walk away from the projector and collect the jar with Green Gel lying on the ground. This item is the in-game currency - you can use it to upgrade character. It is described in a separate chapter. Further in the room you will find a device that can be used for saving the game - you should use it whenever you have the opportunity to. At the machine you will also find a broken mirror that should start glowing (if it doesn't, go back to the first room and check all photos on the wall again). Interact with the mirror to go further.
Once you regain control, pass through the door. Go ahead in the next room - ignore the doors on the sides as you can't open them. Go close to the painting with door number 102 on it. Now turn around and in the place of the passage you used to enter you will find the same door as the one on the painting. Use it to walk further.
Now follow the corridor while ignoring the side door. You will reach a room with a crime scene. Go near the levitating body and interact with it. Then do the same with the nearby camera. Go to the next room and keep going until you reach a dark room. On the countertop near the sink you will find the first Files [Photo of William Baker] - another type of collectible.
When standing in front of the countertop with the files. Turn right and go towards the bookshelves. At the end of the room you will find a bookshelf that blocks the passage. Interact with it in order to unlock passage. Go along the corridor and turn right in order to reach the main hall. At the wall on the right side you will find a phone. Interact with it. Now go up - all other roads are currently blocked.
Once you reach higher floor, go along the barrier. Don't run up yet. Instead, turn left, walk under the bars and collect files [Extravagant Letter] from the table. Go back to the corridor and walk to the double door. You will trigger a short cutscene. Then run upstairs and go towards the passage with curtains. You will reach a double door. Behind it you will have to complete a small sneaking sequence.
The character on the other side of the room will kill someone and then he will start looking for you. You must hide behind the sofa (a hint related to these mechanics will appear on the screen). Then you must move to the left edge of the furniture and hide behind its side. Once the enemy walks away, leave the hideout and interact with the man that was killed. Walk through the double door and run across the corridor. You will return to the familiar hall - however, this time the area is dark.
First turn right, turn the flashlight on and enter the room behind the door number 103. Walk forward and jump over the table. Then collect the files [Photo of Another Victim] from the table. Go back to the hall and run up. Pass through the double door - the one where previously the cutscene with the woman took place.
Move through the corridor behind the mysterious character until you reach the open area. Get close to the slaughter place and interact with the nearby sign. There are many doors here, but all of them are locked. Enter the elevator and ride to the higher floor. Here you must pass through the hole in the net on the left side of the room.
There is nothing to collect here, so keep moving towards the place with hanging corpses. Get close to the symbol of a bleeding eye. The room will change. Now you must move the camera around until a camera appears. Stand behind the camera and door will appear far away. Behind it you must interact in order to start another cutscene.
Once you regain control of your character, go in the opposite direction from the wall with bleeding eye. Collect the photo from the glass. An enemy will appear. You can't fight him, so run around the box and towards the corridor from which the monster came. Keep sprinting until you reach the door.
Now you must climb into the ventilation shaft that is on the other side of the room. After a short pass through the shaft you will enter a red room. Soon a monster appears inside. Run towards the corridor and you will trigger a cutscene with Quick Time Events - you must quickly press buttons appearing on the screen.
Once you regain control of your character, you will receive your first weapon - Survival Knife. Pass through the door and collect the Medical Syringe from the table. The game will explain now how to use it. Heal your character and enter the room on the left from the exit door. Inside you will find Files [Journal in Abandoned House]. Leave the room and use the exit door to get out of the house. Your character will automatically pick up the first gun (Semi-Automatic Handgun) and more Files [Photo of Castellanos Family].
Once you walk outside, the game will explain how to equip and use weapons. Run to the streets and turn right. At the right edge you will find herbs that are used for item crafting (you will be informed about it in chapter 3). Now turn around and go across the street until you reach the house. This will trigger a cutscene. Prepare yourself - the first battle awaits you.
Once you regain control, aim with the handgun and shoot the mutated woman in the head twice. Once it drops to the ground, get close to it and collect the jar with the Green Gel. Interact with the corpse and a conversation with Kidman will start. Now run to the higher floor and collect Gunpowder from the only available room. It can be used for crafting ammunition (you will be informed about it in chapter 3).
Leave the house and turn right behind the door. You will find more herbs. Keep going across the street until you reach a crossroad where a quake will happen. Turn left and use your knife to destroy the boxes. Inside you will find handgun ammunition and more gunpowder. Now go to the other side and keep going ahead until you trigger another cutscene.

Once you regain control, hide behind the car. Wait for the enemy to get more far away and then collect the Bottle lying on the left from the car. It's one of the items you will frequently collect. It can be used for distracting the opponents (and, after buying upgrade, to freeing the protagonist when he is caught). You can use it to lure the enemies to a specific place. If you want it really badly, you can try killing the enemies in the area, but it isn't mandatory.
Now go to the left while hiding behind cars. You will reach a white SUV. Behind it there are garbage containers and a bottle and herbs next to them. Collect the items and turn towards the building. Quietly get close to the enemy that is consuming corpse near the car and eliminate him silently by pressing the button shown on the screen. Search the corpse and collect the green gel. Then do the same with the enemy that is trying to break the door. Search the corpse and enter the room by completing the action shown on the screen.

Once you get inside, search the drawer between the table and the sofa. You will find gunpowder. There is nothing else to collect here, so go through the corridor and the door to the basement. You will trigger a cutscene and end chapter 2.
