Every novice player in EVE Online may find Mining as one of the more stable sources of income. Moreover, it is a relatively safe occupation and does not require advanced skills.
Fitt
The best ship for mining ore in EVE Online is Venture. The Venture ship has a bonus for mining ore, and has been equipped with cargo holds of up to 5,000 m3 - you will be able to transport very large quantities of raw materials.
Venture basic fitts:
- 2x Miner I: you will extract ore with the help of mining lasers;
- Survey Scanner I: allows you to scan the surrounding rocks for the richest deposit;
- Medium Shield Extender I: a module that increases the health of the mining ship;
- Damage Control I: a module that increases damage resistance;
- 2x Hobgoblin I: drones will provide basic protection against pirates who occasionally appear in asteroid belts;
- Salvager I: a mechanism for retrieving valuable items from shipwrecks. You can encounter pirates roaming asteroid belts. Once their ships are destroyed, they leave behind valuable wrecks;
- 1MN Afterburner I: a booster that increases the speed of the ship, and thus slightly improves its mobility and the chance of escaping when you are attacked;
- 2x Small EM Shield Reinforcer I: strengthens shields and increases damage resistance;
- Small Thermal Shield Reinforcer I: strengthens shields and increases damage resistance.
Gameplay
The Venture is a typical mining ship, which is not suitable for fighting. You should avoid conflicts at all costs. Your main task will be to search for asteroid belts (in relatively safe 0.5 systems) in search of valuable rocks from which you will be able to extract ores. Mining is simple - just fly up to the target, activate the mining lasers, and wait.
It may take some time before you learn how to use combat drones, so at the beginning of your mining career, it is best to stop mining and look for another place when a potential threat appears nearby.
