From this guide page to EVE online, you will learn how to earn on PvE missions and how to prepare your ship.
One of the easiest activities in EVE Online is doing missions received from NPC Agents. Agents can assign you various tasks, e.g. mining, hunting pirates, or delivering goods. You will be awarded ISK and LP (loyalty points) for each mission you complete.
Fitt
The missions that you will perform at the very beginning of your adventure with EVE Online will not be paid well, but it will certainly be a more interesting occupation than the monotonous ore mining. Over time, when you strengthen your position in NPC corporations, you will gain access to higher-level Agents who offer more interesting and better-paid missions.
A well-fitted frigate is enough for doing the initial missions, e.g. Executioner (Amarr), Condor (Caldari), Atron (Gallente), or Slasher (Minmatar).
Exemplary fitt for the Executioner ship:
- 3x Small Focused Pulse Laser I + 3x Multifrequency S: a short-range laser weapon with a good tracking system that deals solid damage;
- Stasis Webifier I: a module that increases laser damage, makes it easier to hit slower targets;
- Heat Sink I: increases damage and laser's firing rate;
- 1MN Afterburner I: a booster that increases the speed of the ship, and thus slightly improves its mobility and the chance of escaping when you are attacked;
- Small Capacitor Booster I + 10x Cap Booster 200: provides the frigate with an immediate Capacitor - a reserve of energy that the ship uses to power modules and devices that require a rapid influx of energy;
- Small Armor Repairer I: a module that repairs armor after receiving damage;
- Damage Control I: a module that increases damage resistance.
More basic ship fitts recommended for novice players of EVE Online can be found on the Starting ships, basic configurations.
Before you start making more difficult PvE missions, you should own a few decent ships: Destroyers, Cruisers, Battlecruisers, Battleships.
Gameplay
Before embarking on a mission received by an NPC Agent, take a moment to familiarize yourself with the goals that you will need to complete. Remember that you can reject a mission that doesn't suit you and get a new mission in its place, but you can only do this once every four hours.
For completing the mission, you will receive not only a certain amount of ISK but also LP (Loyalty Points) which you will be able to exchange for items and sell them on the Market to earn extra money. Moreover, while doing PvE missions in EVE Online, you can also eliminate NPC enemies to receive extra rewards.
