EVE Online: Joining PvP militia - how to earn credits? EVE Online guide, tips
On this page of the guide to EVE Online, you will find information that will help you join the militia and start a factional warfare (FW).
Last update: 22 September 2021
On this guide page to EVE Online, you will learn how to earn on PvP fights and how to prepare your ship for battles against other players in FW (factional warfare).
PvP gameplay is perhaps not the best activity for novice players of EVE Online. However, you can do this if you are tired of other activities and need some more exciting activity.
Basic information about PvP and FW
PvP gameplay in EVE Online can provide millions of ISK, but it also involves the risk of large losses. Members of the militia of the opposing faction can destroy your ship without any consequences in HS. The second, equally important point is that the fight takes place in LS systems (Security Status is less than 0.5 but greater than 0.0). FW allows you to earn thousands of LP points, which can later be exchanged for factional items - these can be sold on the market for a significant amount of ISK.
Fitt
For PvP, choose a fast and agile frigate, e.g. Executioner (Amarr), Condor (Caldari), Tristan (Gallente), Slasher (Minmatar).
Exemplary configuration of the Tristan ship:
- 8x Hobgoblin I: drones are the primary weapon of Tristan, so it is worth opting for Hobgoblins, which cause the most damage;
- 2x Light Neutron Blaster I + 1 000x Antimatter Charge S: gun turrets that serve as an additional weapon. They are used at a very close distance;
- Drone Damage Amplifier I: a module that increases the damage dealt by drones;
- Small Armor Repairer I: a module that repairs armor after receiving damage;
- Small Capacitor Booster I + 10x Cap Booster 200: provides the frigate with an immediate Capacitor - a reserve of energy that the ship uses to power modules and devices that require a rapid influx of energy;
- Small Hybrid Collision Accelerator I: increases damage to Light Neutron Blaster turrets.
Due to the fact that Tristan is an unmanned ship using drones, it is perfectly suited not only for combat but also for scouting the terrain. Set up in a safe place, away from potential danger, release drones and attack targets that will be within range of their lasers. If the health of your drones is seriously reduced, pull them back to the ship.
Due to the fact that this unmanned ship relies on drones, you will have to learn Drones Level III and Light Drone Operation Level I skills.
More basic ship fitts recommended for novice players of EVE Online can be found on the Starting ships, basic configurations.
Gameplay
Before joining the FW in EVE Online, you will first need to find a Corporation that belongs to the Militia of the faction you are interested in. Then you should go to the disputed region (the border region between the empires, but in LS) and look at the scanner behind the FW complexes. Their names on the scanner can be as follows: Novice (weak NPC opponents), Small, Medium, Large (strong NPCs).
In EVE Online, we can distinguis two types of FW complexes:
- Offensive complex: performed in enemy space and consists of eliminating emerging opponents. Usually allows you to get more LP;
- Defensive complex: performed in your militia's space. Ships marked with a red cross are allied frigates that should not be attacked.
