We still have to wait for Diablo IV, Path of Exile 2 and the Lost Ark premieres, but the competition never sleeps. A young and ambitious competitor – Wolcen Studio is preparing a marvelous title for hack'n'slash lovers. A game that started as Umbra and ended up as Wolcen: Lords of Mayhem has left the Early Access phase at the beginning of the year. The game lasted a long time in this state, but that's because the developers wanted to polish this diamond with great care and attention just like the old craftsmen – patch by patch. And now we can finally play it in its final form.

Wolcen draws inspiration from the achievements of its noble ancestors – Diablo 2, Titan Quest or Path of Exile, but it does not climb the crown of the family tree empty-handed. Obviously, it belongs to a new generation of hack'n'slash games that care a bit more about appearance and graphics. The developers wanted to attract players with insane graphics from the very beginning, but this is just one of the aces they hide up in the hole. The combat looks epic, and from the accounts of those who played the game, it provides a lot of fun – every strike has a good feeling of impact and momentum, including this unique engaging power, which Blizzard has used in Diablo. Wolcen also has a decent, slightly Warhammer-like plot.

As if that wasn't enough, the game has a rich tree of passive abilities (though not as crazy and overwhelming as in Path of Exile). Although the authors have to work more on the balance of skills, they still have time to take players' comments to heart. Additionally, you will be able to mutate the hero (or heroine). You will start as a classless character, which can be improved according to your own preferences. Of course, as it happens in such slashers, we will cut our way through hordes of monsters and loot tons of equipment. Dozens, thousands, millions of various items.
