Cyberpunk 2077 is the most anticipated RPG of the year (or maybe just the most anticipated video game), but several other announcements have also cheered up enthusiasts of virtual entertainment. For a certain group of players, Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2 will be the most important title. And there's nothing strange about it. The first part failed commercially, because it had a disastrous technical layer (Troika Games, champions of storylines and characters, but when it comes to the game code... we remember [*]). The game seduced with its setting, gloomy atmosphere, well-told story – and the possibility of immersing yourself in the vast World of Darkness.
Despite the fact that Bloodlines 2 took us on a journey with a brand new hero, the game sticks to the general mechanics and principles of the first installment. Once again, we will travel through a dark city, and get entangled in a complicated conflict between vampire families. And, of course, we will take part in lively dialogues that reflect the mood of a spoiled and corrupted world. This time we will wake up as a resurrected mortal who was killed by a group of vampires after they decided to ignore the Masquerade (organized campaign enforced by the Camarilla to convince people that vampires do not exist).
The game promises to be a worthy successor to the original. Except that Bloodlines 2 has received modern graphics, an enhanced combat system, and the locations are unlikely to be that cramped as in part one. Only if developers manage to keep up with the technical side and surpass the bar raised by the previous script – this title may become another hit based on the first installment of a cult franchise.
