The last volumes of Gamedec, created by talented Marcin Przybylek, have been infused with unconventional themes and entered unusual territories. Last volumes include many motifs and inspirations drawn from Warhammer and Neon Genesis Evangelion spiced with the author's fantastic scientific visions. Intriguing, but not digestible to everyone. The first two parts had this wonderful taste of dirty, urban cyberpunk theme, which was focused on virtual reality and its problems. Anshar Studios, responsible for the RPG adaptation of Gamedec, is following this path.
In the game you take control of the title gamedec, a detective who solves dirty, complicated cases, associated with VR and real life. A such unique title which represents a world of the future, may induce many people (or other experts) to make a comment on the current situation associated with video games – and we'll probably get lots of those comments. The developers will offer players a vast amount of original content filled with spoiled cyberpunk items, locations and characters, including unique corporations, sects or factions. While traveling through virtual lands we will come across free-to-play games, which in fact act like slave farms that harness kids to work. And this is probably just one of many crazy ideas of Anshar Studios.
It's all wrapped up in the form of classic isometric RPG with aesthetic three-dimensional graphics and a ton of atmospheric dialogues. And it's not the only promising role-playing game that is going to be released this year. There is a lot more of them just around the corner.
