Temtem. A list of most-wanted upcoming MMORPGs

Table of Contents

  1. We've been waiting for: a year
  2. When it's coming: 2020
  3. Distinguishing features: turn-based combat, Pokémon without Pokémons, highly developed network aspects

The Pokémon are practically asking for a full-fledged MMORPG. There's plenty of games using this franchise coming out every year, but we still haven't received an MMORPG. It's not surprising, then, that the fans decided to take matters into their own hands. They turned the pocket monsters into their own sort of monsters, replaced the pokéballs with cards, and bet on turn-based, 2v2 combat. And thus, Temtem was conceived – a non-pokémon MMORPG.

The project is very ambitious and at this stage it is clear that the developers really have a vision for it. They're not afraid to use solutions tried and tested in other Pokémon games, but also offer some of their own, original ideas. The game will have a simple story, rooms for capturing the monsters, and legends to collect, but all that will be just an excuse for exploration and getting new temtems, which can be then developed.

Temtem bets on competition between players, and other activities, such as trade, or regular cooperation. You will also be able to breed your own beasts, letting you design a creature with the perfect stats. To top it all off, there will be leaderboards, and elements reminiscent of e-sport. As befits any MMORPG, you will meet other people, play in coop with them, complete quests together, share loot, and fight alongside an ally.
