Table of Contents
- How long we've been waiting: 2 years
- When it's coming: 2021
- Distinguishing features: the universe of Magic: The Gathering
We still don't know much about Magic: The Gathering MMORPG. We don't even know its full name yet. The only official announcement said that Cryptic Studios will be developing the game in collaboration with Perfect World Entertainment – the publisher. The game will be available as free-to-play. This is the only information that has appeared so far.
Besides, we've only heard rumors and cryptic reports. Magic: The Gathering will let you enact a Planeswalker, roaming the diverse and vibrant world based on the universe of the famous card game. The combat system will be dynamic – the developers from the beginning emphasize that they are interested in creating something modern. Unfortunately, that's basically all the info. Oddly enough, no one has managed to learn anything new, but there is no doubt that the game is still being developed.
PHANTASY STAR ONLINE 2, OR REHEATED DINNER
Some "innovation", which will come in 2020, will be Phantasy Star Online 2. This 2012 MMORPG popular in Japan has been inaccessible until now in the western markets. Thanks to Microsoft, it will debut in the West, but only in North America.
Unfortunately, Phantasy Star Online 2 will not get to Europe, but there's a slight chance European players will be able to play without using a VPN. No IP lock has been declared, and this production is instance-based, using a peer-to-peer system. With this solution, even players outside of North America are likely to be able to play without complaining about lags or high ping.
