Last Oasis Description
Last Oasis is a postapocalyptic survival focused on multiplayer gameplay, developed by Donkey Crew studio. As in the case of other productions of this type, the player's task is to survive in unfavorable conditions.
Plot
Last Oasis takes place in the distant future. A huge cataclysm destroyed the Moon and stopped the rotation of the Earth. This caused the planet to be divided into two extremely different environments. One side of the planet is a barren desert. The second one is covered in ice. Only a small area between the two zones is habitable. Since it is constantly moving, some survivors of the disaster built a mobile city - Flotilla. The rest of humanity has been divided into clans, which are constantly competing for influence and resources. They live in Oases, areas with large deposits of resources. The Flotilla sends its residents, including the player, to these Oases to gather resources.
Mechanics
Last Oasis doesn't differ in its assumptions from other cooperation-oriented surviving games. The player starts in one of the many available Oases. Each of them is characterized by a unique environment. Due to the constant movement of the safe zone, it is necessary to move from one Oasis to another. We do this by using special walking machines. Building them requires a sufficient amount of raw materials, which we accumulate during the game. In order to streamline operations on a specific area, players can also create stationary bases where they will find shelter and enable more effective defense. Smaller elements of this type of objects can also be moved to our mobile base.
The world in Last Oasis isn't the safest - apart from environmental threats, players have to face each other as well. We can use various weapons for both direct and ranged combat. Thanks to the character progression system, you can enhance your character's ability to wield different types of weapons.
Trade between the Oases also plays an important role. There are no predetermined routes or prices - they all depend on the players' decisions. Trading is very profitable, but also a risky investment. Each caravan can be seized or destroyed by an opponent - we need to take care of their safety, too.
Game mode
Last Oasis is a multiplayer-only game with no single-player mode. A very important role in the game world is played by the so-called clans. These are groups of players who share the same goals. By creating a large group, they can collect raw materials faster and expand their walking fleet. In this way, they gain influence in the game world and efficiently expand their empire.
Technical aspects
Last Oasis offers a very realistic three-dimensional graphic design. The diversity that characterizes the different Oases deserves attention.
