Elyon PC

Elyon is another game developed by Bluehole, the creators of the insanely popular battle royale Playerunknown’s Battlegrounds and the famous MMORPG TERA. The new game is an MMORPG as well and was released on PC.

Plot

The game enables the players to participate in many adventures in an amazing world that combines steampunk with fantasy. The players take the role of heroes who are looking for a new home. The story is just an excuse for exploration and combat.

Mechanics

Elyon, as any other MMO, provides the players with many possibilities. During the game, exploration and facing new challenges is most important. The players can also participate in various side activities. It is possible to construct buildings, plant plants or participate in unusual races of barrels rolling down the hill. Combat is the main attraction of the game – the fights can be fought against other players and enemies controlled by the AI.

Battles are action-based and they require using the powers of the heroes in the right time. In some cases, they also force the players to cooperate with each other. The developers prepared a variety of characters that serve different roles in the combat. There are five character classes available. Warlord is a warrior with great strength and resistance. He fights with a big hammer and a giant shield and he is effective in protecting his allies and focusing the attention of enemies on him. Sorceress can be easily wounded, but in order to do it one must get close to her – and that isn’t easy because she uses magic to attack enemies and to support her allies from distance. Gunslinger is using guns – he can use ranged attacks with a sniper rifle and he can fight in close distance. Although his firepower is strong, his defenses and speed are lacking. Assassin has little chances in open combat, but she can surprise enemies and she is perfect for reconnaissance. The last available class is Mystic who controls the forces of nature. She is a support class that heals allies and weakens the enemies. The newest and last class is the Slayer: a berserk who deals with enemies with his two-handed sword.

Combat can feature many phases, for example during the Realm vs Realm faction battles. In these cases, the players participate in large-scale battles. Some players are fighting on the ground by using their character’s skills and additional tools like mechs and cannons.

Technical aspects

Elyon features nice three-dimensional graphics. However, the technical side isn’t the greatest advantage of the game. It’s the style. The developers combined steampunk with fantasy, creating a world in which giant airships are flying through the sky and there are giant dragons on the ground, and the heroes wield both firearms and magic.
