New World. A list of most-wanted upcoming MMORPGs

Table of Contents

  1. How long we've been waiting: 3 years
  2. When it's coming: 2020
  3. Distinguishing features: an alternate history of the expeditions of Christopher Columbus; magic, dynamite, flintlock guns, and cannibals

Amazon's New World is an MMORPG that could also be classified as an on-line survival on a huge scale. The servers will only fit 500 people at a time, but this number should be gradually increased to 10 thousand, and this sounds like a guarantee of huge-scale combat and endless rivalry.

And there will be things worth fighting over. In the end, the game is about the pioneers of the eponymous New World, who will explore an island rich in rare minerals and resources. However, it soon becomes clear that the wild land is inhabited by aggressive fauna and flora, as well as cannibals. The fact that players will be divided into factions contesting the power over the realm doesn't make things easier, and then you can even become an outlaw.

Get ready for establishing bases and erecting buildings, but also for elements typical in survival games – death from hunger, or exposure is also a possibility. Turns out death in New World is just as inconvenient as in real life, since dying in this game also means full loot drop... just like in real life. All this takes place in an alternative version of the 17th century, where magic meets technology.
