Desperados 3: Hero - why doesn't listen to orders? Desperados 3 guide, walkthrough
Last update: 22 February 2021
This page of the guide to Desperados 3 focuses on a problem that can be encounter frequently while playing the game - why does the hero refuse to perform an action? We are talking about actions like climbing on a high shelf. Such problems can make the game more difficult to play - read this chapter to learn how to recognize these problems and get around them.
A character can refuse to perform an action, for example, if you order them to climb up the ivy to a higher ledge or enter the water. You can hear the corresponding message from the hero, and notice that the cursor has turned into an icon similar to the one in the picture above.
Your characters fail to perform an action due to the lack of appropriate passive ability. You can check these abilities by hovering the cursor over the hero's portrait on the left side of the screen.
For example, in the image above, you can find out that Hector can't swim and that he can only use ladders. Therefore, the ivy walls and ropes are inaccessible to him.
We recommend checking the Playable characters and their skills page. We have collected all the active and passive abilities of your heroes.
How to deal with the problem of inaccessible areas and objects for selected teammates? There are two main methods:
- Look for another passage. Most stages have at least two different paths leading to each mission objective.
- Order another teammate to help. That hero can complete a mission goal in an "inaccessible" location alone or help unlock a passage. You can learn about this mechanic during the second mission where Cooper must lower the rope ladder for McCoy so that they can proceed forward together.
