Desperados 3: Get a disguise - mission 16, walkthrough Desperados 3 guide, walkthrough
Last update: 23 February 2021
On this page of our Desperados 3 guide, we have posted the first part of the walkthrough for Mission 16 - The Old and the New. This section is dedicated to the initial part of the journey through the canyon. From our walkthrough, you will find out where you can get a disguise for Kate and how to reach the new outfit safely.
Our walkthrough of Mission 16 contains references to the map in the world atlas, which can be found on the first page of this chapter. For example, the designation (M16,5) indicates that you should find a blue point numbered 5 on the map for Mission 16.
A woman from whom you can steal a disguise is found in the southern part of the canyon (M16,4). Getting an outfit for Kate is completely optional and if you don't want to get it you can head straight for the cemetery (M16,1). However, we do not advise skipping this step, because without the disguise it will be harder to get rid of many enemies.
Kate, Cooper, and Hector start on the left side of the canyon (M16,1). The canyon was also the background to the prologue, but this time the enemy placement is completely different. The next 2 enemies can be easily surprised. In case more bandits appear, use the cart and the crates as cover, and make use of perfume and coins. Eliminate enemies one at a time and watch out for the bandit who travels towards the canyon descent (M16,3). Continue eliminating opponents every time he goes right.
Isabelle and McCoy begin on the right side of the canyon (M16,2). In their case, make use of distracting abilities - medicine bag or Isabelle's cat, and whenever applicable, Connect. Use the sniper rifle to kill a poncho-wearing opponent standing on the rocks.
A lone Long Coat traverses this area, but you can easily deal with him - climb up to the upper shelf and approach the interactive boulder (M16,6). Push the rock on the enemy as he passes - it will crush him without setting off the alarm.
Before you proceed to the location with the disguise it is recommended to secure the passageway connecting the left and right areas of the canyon (M16,5). The left side of the bridge is more difficult, as there are more opponents there. Many enemies can be drawn away by whistling, coin or deliberately leaving footprints in the sand.
Here, you'll encounter the first three-man patrol, led by a Long Coat. This patrol is best dealt with only after dealing with nearby opponents. The ideal plan of action involves using Hector's sawed-off shotgun to attack the patrol, and there can be no other enemies in the blue circle unless you want the alarm to be raised. A struck Long Coat always has to be finished, so do it quickly before he regains his health.
Dealing with the patrol will greatly help you in clearing the pathway connecting the left and right sections of the canyon. There are opponents on both sides of the chasm and it is best to get rid of them by relying on team attacks in Showdown Mode.
In this area you will find another large boulder - drop it right away, because there is, among others, a Long Coat underneath it. Getting rid of enemies with the boulder will clear the way to the place where you can get the disguise.
You have to go down to the canyon and there are paths on both sides leading down (M16,3). It is best to approach the destination at the same time from both sides in order to eliminate enemies from the higher rock ledges without problems.
- The path on the left offers great opportunities to place snares and distracting standard opponents with whistling.
- The right path allows, among others, to jump on one of the enemies watching the canyon.
Once you're below, look out for the opponent traveling with the lantern and proceed with further attacks as he goes north. Leave the bandit talking to a woman for last. Eliminate both of these characters in a combined attack and pick up the disguise.
