Last update: 13 January 2022
From this chapter of our guide to Deep Rock Galactic, you can find out how to quickly gain experience points and acquire resources necessary to improve your equipment.
In Deep Rock Galactic, you must earn experience points and resources in order to be able to further develop your character. By doing so, your hero can advance to higher levels and ranks, modify equipment, unlock new cosmetic items, alternative weapons and tasks in the Assignment Terminal, and do many other things. Experience points are also required to level up characters and unlock all end game mechanics available in Deep Rock Galactic. It's worth knowing how to earn a lot of experience and farm the raw materials in order to significantly speed up the process of character and account development.
What is the fastest way to get experience points?
Fast and effective gain of experience points undoubtedly greatly accelerates the development of the character and the entire player account in Deep Rock Galactic. The primary source of experience points are missions - especially on different levels of threat with additional handicaps. Fortunately, the whole process of gaining experience can be accelerated, especially if you know how experience points are being awarded in Deep Rock Galactic.
The basic rule to quickly get a lot of experience points is to complete missions with additional anomaly called Double XP. After successfully completing a mission, the player receives twice as many experience points. Besides, experience points in Deep Rock Galactic you can be obtained for the following activities:
- Completing the main mission objective;
- Completing the alternative mission objective;
- Threat level (1 to 5);
- Quantity of raw materials extracted by the entire team;
- Number of enemies killed during the mission;
- Additional warning, such as Lethal Enemies - in this case opponents inflict increased damage;
- Additional experience points can be obtained for taking part in a Machine Event if it appears on a particular map;
- If the team manages to find the mysterious ERR://23¤Y%/ item, they will receive an additional 2,000 experience points for this.
By following the above advice you can get huge, even five-digit amount of experience points. As you can notice in the picture above, the team successfully completed the mission with the Double XP anomaly, with level 3 complexity and length, additional warning, and on Hazard level 3. Therefore, this team earned as much as 32 090 experience points! That's enough to level up a character a few times in a row!
What is the fastest way to get raw materials?
Raw materials in Deep Rock Galactic are required for a variety of activities: modifying weapons and other equipment, modifying Bosco drone, leveling up characters, creating cosmetic items and Overclocks in The Forge. Also, they're needed for shopping if you want to visit the Accessory Shop. In order to develop your character properly, you will need huge amounts of resources which can be harvested on the Hoxxes IV planet.
Each area of planet Hoxxes IV in Deep Rock Galactic has specific deposits of resources and raw materials. Some of them may be present in many biomes at once, but not always at the same frequency. The resources of planet Hoxxes IV can be divided into abundant and limited ones (rare).
Area name | Abundant resources | Limited resources |
Crystalline Caverns | Jadiz | Bismor |
Glacial Strata | Magnite | Umanite |
Magma Core | Magnite | Croppa |
Fungus Bogs | Croppa | Jadiz |
Dense Biozone | Bismor | Umanite |
Salt Pits | Enor Pearl | Bismor |
Sandblasted Corridors | Enor Pearl | Magnite |
Radioactive Exclusion Zone | Umanite | Enor Pearl |
If you want to acquire huge amounts of rare resources, then during the mission selection screen search for tasks which have the Mineral Mania anomaly (we have marked it in the picture above). Due to this feature rare resources will be much more frequent than normal ones in a cave generated for a particular mission.
