Deep Rock Galactic: Driller - main weapon Deep Rock Galactic guide, tips
This page of the Deep Rock Galactic guide is dedicated to the Driller's main weapons.
Last update: 13 January 2022
Driller's primary main weapon is the CRSP Flamethrower. However, upon reaching level 10, he gets access to an alternative main weapon, the Cryo Cannon. The first weapon spits out flames, and the second sprays a cloud of cold air. The CRSP flamethrower is a purely offensive weapon that deals massive damage, and the Cryo Cannon can be considered a support weapon that makes it easier for the team to eliminate a swarm of aliens or larger opponents, such as Dreadnoughts. After reaching level 20, you can unlock a new main weapon (via Assignment Mission) - Corrosive Sludge Pump.
CRSP Flamethrower
CRSP Flamethrower is the Driller's main weapon - it spits out a wave of flames that can quickly and easily eliminate an entire swarm of aliens. Enemies that stay in flames will receive additional damage dealt over time. What's more, by spraying the flames just above the ground, you will cause small flames to break away from the main fire wave and stick to the ground, creating the so-called "sticky flames" that inflict damage to enemies passing through them.
CRSP Flamethrower has a very high armor penetration and inflicts additional damage to enemies like Mactera and Glyphids. As is usually the case with this type of weapon, the flamethrower is only effective at short range. If you want to damage a target located further away from the miner, you will need to switch to the extra weapon.
Be very careful not to damage teammates with the CRSP flamethrower. This is especially important when you have to defend your position against waves of aliens in a small area.
Suggested CRSP Flamethrower modifications:
- Tier 1 - High Pressure Ejector;
- Tier 2 - Unfiltered Fuel;
- Tier 3 - Sticky Flame Slowdown;
- Tier 4 - Sticky Flame Duration;
- Tier 5 - Targets Explode.
Suggested CRSP Flamethrower Overclocks:
- Clean - Lighter Tanks or Sticky Additive;
- Balanced - Fuel Stream Defuser.
Cryo Cannon
Upon reaching level 10, the Driller can unlock the Cryo Cannon that shoots a cloud of cold air. The Cryo Cannon doesn't deal as much damage as the basic flamethrower. Instead, it can completely freeze the target and make them receive much greater damage than normal. The Cry Cannon is a great weapon for fighting large opponents like Dreadnoughts.
Suggested Cryo Cannon modifications:
- Tier 1 - Improved Second Stage;
- Tier 2 - High Pressure Reserve;
- Tier 3 - Increased Flow Volume;
- Tier 4 - Improved Mixture;

- Tier 4 - Spillback Extension;
- Tier 5 - Protein Disruption Mix.
Suggested Cryo Cannon Overclocks:
- Clean - Improved Thermal Efficiency or Perfectly Tuned Cooler;
- Balanced - Flow Rate Expansion;
