Deep Rock Galactic: Driller - special equipment Deep Rock Galactic guide, tips
This page of the Deep Rock Galactic describes the Driller's equipment.
Last update: 13 January 2022
One of Driller's biggest assets is his special equipment - Reinforced Power Drills. These mechanical arms equipped with diamond saws enable the Driller to quickly dig tunnels in underground caves and create unconventional routes leading to the mission's destination. The Driller also has a useful remotely detonated Satchel Charge explosives.
Reinforced Power Drills
Reinforced Power Drills are mechanical arms that allow the Driller to quickly dig tunnels in the rocks and walls. With this item, the team can move quickly from one floor to another by using unconventional paths. Reinforced Power Drills are also an extremely useful tool when breaking through a cave to an evacuation point.
However, this mining tool also has some limitations. Continuous use of this tool makes it quickly overheat (green frame on the screen above). When the overheating level reaches 100%, you will need to wait 2 seconds to cool the mechanism. Keep an eye on this parameter and take small breaks while digging. What's more, Reinforced Power Drills also have a limited fuel supply (red frame on the screen above) that needs to be replenished. Interestingly, Reinforced Power Drills can be used as a weapon if the opponent is within range of diamond drills.
Reinforced Power Drills cannot be used to extract ores and minerals - this requires the pickaxe.
Suggested Reinforced Power Drills modifications:
- Tier 1 - Hardened Drill Tips;
- Tier 2 - Magnetic Refrigeration;
- Tier 3 - Supercharged Motor;
- Tier 4 - Increased Tank Pressure.
Satchel Charge
Satchel Charges are explosives carried by each Driller. Satchel Charge is primarily used to remove rocks or inflict damage to a swarm of aliens.
A Satchel Charge can be detonated remotely, meaning that when the charge is placed, your character will hold a detonator. In the image above you can also see the area where the charge will be detonated.
Suggested Satchel Charge modifications:
- Tier 1 - Bigger Charge;
- Tier 2 - Kill Switch;
- Tier 3 - Extra Satchel Charge;
- Tier 4 - Stun.
