Recon Class | General hints Battlefield 4 Guide
Last update: 11 May 2016
- Recon class are not just snipers. Spotting and tracking targets are the main objective of this class.
- Contrary to popular belief, a Recon crouching behind a rock on the edge of the map doesn't help his team nor himself. If you prefer a more stationary gameplay, try to "camp" where your team needs it, for example near the targets that are being conquered or defended by your team. You will not only be more useful, but you'll have a higher chance of fragging someone.
- Moving your ""camp" quite often will let you avoid attracting attention of enemy snipers and infantry that you could have enraged with your shooting skills.
- When you set up a ""camp" for a longer time, place an AP mine in the most obvious entrance and a T-UGS sensor nearby. If you pay attention to the sounds made by the sensor and the minimap, you'll avoid an unexpected death from behind.
- PLD not only lets you localise enemy infantry and measure the distance, but also guide the rockets by designating targets.
- While using a radio beacon, always try to join teams with most players and place the beacons in least expected places that are good for surrounding the enemy.
- If you prefer an aggressive gameplay, a thrown motion sensor will be your best companion. While attacking the enemy's location, it will let you detect all enemies in 25 metre radius.
- C4 explosive is another good companion of aggressive Recon. Remember that C4 lets you not only destroy enemy vehicles, but also pull down buildings and set up traps.
- Remember that on maps with airspace for jets, after being respawned on a radio beacon, you'll jump with a parachute. You can use it to get to a position that's hard to reach.
- To avoid being respawned in the air, set up a radio beacon under any roof or in a room. Roofs of many buildings have rooms made for that.
- MAV is a perfect recon tool, but you can also destroy enemy's devices with it. You just have to aim at a target and shoot an EMP towards it.
- If you want to support your team by designating targets but you don't have time to do it manually, use a semi-automatic SOFLAM detector. Try to place it in a spot from which you can see as much of the battlefield as possible.
