Side Quests in the Elfsong Tavern and the Sorcerous Sundries | Elfsong Tavern and Sorcerous Sundries BG: Siege of Dragonspear Guide
Last update: 02 June 2016
Rabble-Rousers
You can unlock this quest soon after arriving near the tavern. Close to the starting point you can meet officer Vida (M4,2) with whom you must initiate a conversation. During this meeting you will be asked to go to the headquarters of the Flaming Fist and bringing reinforcements to help with the aggressive refugees.
Go to the Flaming Fist Headquarters (M6 map) and reach the central chamber of the building (M6,4). You must meet with officer Jenks. Ask him during the conversation to bring reinforcements and decide how the guards should treat the refugees - whether they shouldn't use violence at all or treat the more brutal refugees brutally. Once the officer agree to send reinforcements, go back to Vida and tell her the good news. For completing the quest you will receive experience points and potion of clarity.
Zaviak's Vision Quest
In order to unlock this quest you must enter the Elfsong Tavern and find Zaviak in one of the side rooms. During the conversation you will determine that the man has magic glasses that allow seeing unnatural creatures. Take these glasses from him (Spectacles of Spectacle). Open the inventory and decide to wear them (place them in the slot shown on the picture) - the first unnatural creature can be found at the ground floor of the tavern.
There is a fire elemental named Al-Alai in the tavern. You must interact with the creature in order to start a short conversation. Don't count on ending the encounter peacefully - sooner or later a battle will start. Defeating the monster won't be easy. Try mobilizing the whole party and using the best weapons and spells. Before the battle starts you should increase the fire resistance of party members - Al-Alai will focus on using fire attacks.
Next creature on the list is Gauth. You can meet the creature in Coast Way Crossing (M7 map). It circulates the north-west corner of the map, the glade with stone statues (M7,6) (upper screenshot). After you click on the monster, and start a short conversation, a fight will begin. Before it starts, try to proof and prepare your party members for electricity, and slowing or paralyzing attacks. The monster will leave a magic Ring.
The next entity, which you can notice using the magic glasses, is a Greater Shadow. It can be found in the Bugbear Caverns in the Forest of Wyrms (M10,5). After entering the cavern, eliminate the surrounding monsters, and then use the glasses on the shadow. If your character is charismatic enough, you can persuade the shadow to help you to dispose of the remaining monsters in the vicinity. Otherwise, you have to kill the creature.
Days of Wine and Stealing
You can receive this quest by meeting with Irina in the kitchen on the ground floor of the Elfsong Tavern (M4,5). The woman will inform you that she has run out of red wine supplies. You will be asked to steal a barrel from the palace basement. You can refuse, agree to perform the theft (for free or for money) or (the best option) promise help if she give you gold to be left in the place from where the wine will be taken. If you select the last option, she will give you 50 pieces of gold.
Leave the tavern and go back to the Ducal Palace (M2 map). Go down to the basement. You must find the correct wine barrel. According to information received from Irina, it will be a barrel with sharp & spicy wine - it's in the northern part of the basement (close to two cells). The precise location is shown on the above picture. You can steal the wine or leave the gold received from Irina in the place where the barrel was lying. Go back to the questgiver and give her the wine. You can end the quest or ask for reward. In the latter case you will receive a unique helmet that looks like a beer mug.
The Sorcerous Sundries Caper
In order to unlock this quest you must enter the Sorcerous Sundries and find Halbazzer Drin on the ground floor (M4,9). During the conversation you will be asked to bringing a chest with empty potion bottles from the first floor. Go there and find the Empty Bottle Case (M4,11). The precise location of the chest is shown on the above picture.
A group of thieves led by Yashna will appear after you collect the bottles. Don't count on convincing them to leave the room or giving up. Instead of that, immediately after the conversation ends a battle will start. Try killing Wistak in first order as he can poison the party members (when that happens, use antidote or curing spells). Then attack Sethyl, thus making it impossible for him to cast spells. Leave the remaining enemies for the end.
Once the battles are over, go back to the ground floor and give the bottle to Drin (50 pieces of gold). Tell him about eliminating Yashna and his group, you will receive a magic amulet for that.
