- The War at Home
- Sarevok's Servant
- The Fist Restrained
- Refuge for the Refugees
- Recruitment Drive
- All the Way to the Bank
My Missed Fortune
This quest will be added to your journal as soon as you reach the Ducal Palace. If you want to, you can open up your inventory and read the Treasury Note, from which you'll learn that you must go to the treasury if you want to reclaim your fortune. It can be found in the basement of the palace (M2,12) - speak with the treasurer called Ophyllis located there. During the conversation you will learn that Ophyllis lost all of your gold in dog races, but he promises you that he will reclaim it.
You must now leave the palace and head to the courtyard (M2,15) where a wounded Ophyllis will be waiting for you. During the conversation you will learn that the man was attacked by a group of refugees as soon as he reclaimed your gold. You must now venture to The Three Old Kegs inn to look for the thugs that stole your treasure.
In order to find the people responsible for stealing your gold you must venture to the Three Old Kegs inn (M3 map). Afterwards, enter the building and reach the first floor of the inn. Approach one of the tables located in the western part of the room - a group of refugees can be found there (M3,7). After you've introduced yourself and informed them about the problem, you can end the discussion in three ways:
- Leave the refugees alone. By doing so you will have their thanks and be given a Battle Axe.
- Order the refugees to surrender themselves to the guards. You will receive a large amount of experience points.
- Fight and kill the refugees. Afterwards, you can loot the aforementioned Battle Axe from one of the bodies.
You will meet Ophyllis again sometime after you arrive to Coast Way Crossing. He will show in the Flaming Fist camp (M7,1) after one of your returns to the camp. Ophyllis will have pangs of conscience following the lost gold, and will give you Golden hero bust as a gift.
Skie's Grand Plan
This quest can be unlocked after you've taken part in the Council meeting (part of the main storyline), at the ground floor of the palace (M2,7). When the meeting is over, look for Skie (Entar Silvershield's daughter) in the area and speak with her. The girl will hesitate to tell you anything specific, and will express a desire to meet you in a private place, where no one will eavesdrop on you. Don't try to get back to your chamber but simply continue with your other affairs, until a new opportunity to meet Skie arises.
You can't miss the meeting with Skie - it will happen automatically after the protagonist decides to join the expedition from the Dragonspear castle (Journey to the north main quest). You must go back to hero's private chamber (M2,1). Once he goes to rest, Skie will wake him up and initiate a conversation. During the conversation you will learn that Skie has secretly joined the Flaming Fist.
Skie will ask the protagonist to keep her joining the Flaming Fist a secret. You can do as she wants and not tell anyone about it or return to the palace ground floor and, after participating in the new meeting of the Council (M2,7), ask Skie's father, Lord Entar Silvershield, for a private meeting. You can tell him the truth - he will inform you that he already knew about what his daughter is up to. The lord will ask you to keep an eye on Skie during the expedition and to protect her from any harm. Entar will also give you a magic ring.
You will meet Skie again after your first arrival to Coast Way Forest (M8,1). She will be standing near a defeated monster. You can persuade her in more or less friendly way, that the surroundings are dangerous, and she should get back to Flaming fist camp.
The next scene with Skie should start after reaching the Flaming Fist encampment in Troll Claw Woods (M9,1). Skie doesn't want to participate in drills with the other Flaming Fist members. You can choose more or less aggressive dialogue option to impel her to start executing commands issued by Bence Duncan.
The War at Home
You can add this side quest to your journal by meeting with Jospil, who can be found in a western room on the ground floor of the palace (M2,9). Initially, the man will be too depressed to have a conversation with you, but you can speak with him again when he reaches the main hall of the palace. You will learn about the current military activities associated with Caelar Argent's crusader. Regardless of the method you used to cheer the man up, and if you've decided to learn about the details of the military situation, the quest will be completed. Additionally, Jospil will give you a Brevin's Quarterstaff +1.
Another meeting with Skie will happen in the crusaders' camp in Boareskyr Bridge (M11,3), and will go ahead after you solve the problem of crusaders besieging the fort. Just like previous meetings, you have to placate Skie.
Sarevok's Servant
The chance for this quest will appear only if you've decided to arrest Korlasz during your exploration of the Korlasz Family Tomb (M1 map). Head to the basement of the palace and approach Korlasz's Cell (M2,11) and you will learn that the sorceress managed to escape. After a short conversation with the woman another encounter with begin. Before the battle begins, make sure to use potions / and or scrolls increasing the magic resistance, and that you have access to means of counteracting negative effects such as slow, or blindness. Fortunately, you don't have to fight her on your own, as nearby Flaming Fist guards should join the battle. This time the encounter will end with the death of the sorceress.
The Fist Restrained
A chance for this quest will appear as soon as you reach the basement of the palace. A Flaming Fist officer can be found in one of the cells (M2,13). It appears, that he was imprisoned here due to a deceit. Head south-west from the cell and examine of the tables there (M2,14) - you should acquire the Cell Key. Get back to the cell and release the officer. Thanks to that, you will complete this short and easy quest.
Refuge for the Refugees
In order to unlock this quest, you must reach the palace courtyard (M2,15) and find a man called Garachen there, who offers shelter for the refugees coming to the city. A man called Perren, who is standing nearby, won't have a good opinion about Garachen - you will learn, that Garachen makes a living by stealing the personal belongings of the refugees. You can convince Garachen to discontinue the activity, allow it, or simply ignore the situation and leave the place.
If you ordered Garachen to stop his doings, you will be able to improve the situation of the refugees that are gathered near the palace. It can be done in two main (and excluding each other) ways. First option is obtaining the supplies with the most important goods for the refugees and in this case you must go to the Elfsong Tavern (M4 map). Speak to "Lady" Alyth Elendara after reaching the large chamber on the ground floor (M4,4). If you tell her about the refugees, you will have a chance to buy supplies for 1000 pieces of gold. If you agree, you will receive the Supply Chest Key for the chest with supplies that is located on the floor of the tavern (M4,13). Once you have the supplies, return to Garachen.
Alternative solution: If you don't want to spend large number of gold on supplies, you can steal them. In order to do it, reach the first floor and use thief (for example Safana) to open the chest.
The second behavior option is complaining about Garachen in the Flaming Fist Headquarters. Once you reach the destination, you must go to the central chamber (M6,4) and meet with officer Fritz. He will say that taking personal belongings of the refugees in exchange for giving them a haven is illegal. You can end the conversation due to the lack of evidence or lie and convince Fritz that Garachen is suspected of selling some of the refugees to the slave hunters. Fritz will believe you and promise that he will take care of it. Once you return to the Ducal palace (M2,15) you will witness Garachen being arrested. Once all is done, speak with Perren who is standing nearby - he will thank you for the help.
Recruitment Drive
This quest can be unlocked only after the meeting with the Council on the ground floor of the palace (M2,7). After it's over, head towards the exit (M2,8) and speak with Captain Shael Corwin. Bring up the topic of your former companions and ask the captain for their whereabouts, so you can recruit them again. You will learn about the location of those characters that accompanied you during the exploration of the Korlasz Family Tomb, as well as other potential allies (known from the primary campaign).
Note - A full list of companions available for recruitment can be found in the Companions chapter of this guide.
- Minsc and Dynaheir can be found on the highest floor of the Three Old Kegs inn (M3,9). Note that those two characters are close partners - they only travel together. If you're interested in either of them, you have to invite both of them to your party.
- Safana the thief can be found on the floor of the Elfsong Tavern (M4,7). It is a good idea to recruit her fast if other party members are not able to open closed chests and disarm traps.
- Elven cleric Viconia can be found on the courtyard of the Ducal Palace (M2,15) BUT it will be possible only after you start the Journey to the north main quest. During the farewell ceremony you can walk towards Viconia and invite her to your party.
What's important, some of the people mentioned by Corwin won't be interested in traveling together after you reach them and invite them to your party. These people are:
- Bard Garrick that can be found on the ground floor of Elfsong Tavern (M4,4). Once you complete the conversation with him, "Lady" Alyth Elendara should talk to you - Garrick is in love with her. As a "compensation", she will give you the potion of agility.
- Coran who can be found on the first floor of Elfsong Tavern (M4,7). As a compensation, Coran will give you the Water Opal, a rare jewel.
- Rasaad the monk who can be found on the ground floor of the Iron Throne (M5,4). Despite his refusal, you will receive a few hundred of experience points.
- Tiax the cleric is held in one of the cells of the Flaming Fist Headquarters (M6,5). He won't want to travel with you, but you will receive experience points anyway.
If you miss one of the potential companions, you will not lose the opportunity to join them to your team. They will be waiting in the Flaming Fist camp in Coast Way Crossing (M7 map), which you will reach after joining the expedition heading north. In this location and in other locations in the world, you will find more potential companions. However, finding them and joining to your team will not be a part of this quest (the full list of allies can be viewed in the Companions chapter).
All the Way to the Bank
In order to unlock this quest, you must reach the palace courtyard (M2,15) and locate a merchant called Teera, located in the southern part of it. Initiate a conversation, during which you must confirm that you're a hero of the Baldur's Gate. She will ask you to deliver a sack of gold to a loan shark. You can agree, demand a payment for the job (5 gold coins), or decline.
Select the Elfsong Tavern (M4 map) from the city map. Don't enter the building after reaching the destination. Instead, find Senna on the plaza. Give her the gold sack. Then return to Teera and inform her about delivering the gold.
Alternative solution: Before reaching Senna you can be accosted by Zelma. After a short conversation you will notice that she stole Teera's purse. Go to Senna. During the meeting you can behave in two ways. You can pay off Teera's dept (50 pieces of gold) or refuse doing that. In both cases you must then go back to the questgiver. If you haven't paid for Teera, she will be disappointed and your reputation will worsen.
